You were correct on the #20 Steven Brundle car. He who will spend about 15 hours per body set will get to be the #19 Schumi car. In other words, the slow RC driver is using the faster drivers number and the fast RC guy gets the slower real cars number.

Vyger - wings will be vinyl. Tamiya actually has about 6 or 7 flex vinyl sticker sheets they sell and their yellow is very close to Camel Yellow. From your picture, it looks like we have a lot of the same decal island sheets. With all the new sets F1 Paintlabs is making, we will not have to horde them anymore.

Time to go get some breakfast !

Cool

Vyger

You just gotta work the program a bit more

Roll the Factory Semi up to the track, with a few Finely detailed cars, Umbrella Girls, and ask "Who Wants a Ride"

Like BP has said, take your time masking and prepping and you will be surprised the results. When I painted the two Benetton B192's, I spent more time masking than I did actual painting. Don't worry, after you paint 100+ bodies, you will have it mastered.

Default New to F1

Hello F1 racers! I just recently picked up a used F103 15th Anniversary Edition kit with electronics (SPX Super Reverse, Futaba radio and servo, and a LRP X12 7.5 turn motor) included. It hasn't been on a track yet so the handling of the car is up in the air, not to worry I'll be switching out the 7.5 turn for a 21.5 soon.

I'll be racing on smooth paved on road tracks here in Japan, I'm wondering where I should start with setup? Tires are Tamiya foam (not sure what shore they are).
Also, the T-plate is made from carbon fiber, but the kit also has the FRP version. Should I switch the CF for the FRP for more traction?

What lipos are people using? C rating? Stick or brick configuration/

Will this car be up to pace with the F104's X1 and X2s?

Lemme know what your opinion is.

Cheers

The 103 will be plenty competitive, if not dominant against the 104.
if it still has the kit foams on it, they are what is known as the Type C tires.
As far as a lipo, C rating and capacity arent as critical for F1 because the cars dont put as big a load against the motor, so the ESC is not drawing as much current. a 3800 30 or 35c should be plenty. As far as the Tplate, for outdoors typically you want to use the softer of the 2. Hope this helps
