1: What Turn motor is used in this class brushed and brushless?
2: Is the ESC set to locked spec mode?
3: Obviously the class is large enough for some people to have a whole fleet of cars and race everyone of them at least twice a year, Is it big enough in idaho to own one and race regularly?
4: Last but not least not many companies make these besides tamiya, 3racing, and hpi that i know of is there any other companies to choose from besides tyco lol?
1: Depends on what rules your local tracks are running to. If they are using the same as UF1 then it will be a 21.5T motor. Around here we also use 540 silver can brushed to get people started.
2: Again, it depends on your local racers. UF1 uses 21.5T blinky, here we run 21.5T boosted.
3: Best to ask if anyone in the Idaho area is actually running F1. http://www.rctech.net/forum/idaho-racing-123/
4: Plenty. Tech Racing, 3Racing, TRG, HPI, Top Racing, WRC, soon the be joined by Kyosho and Serpent, conversion kits from Exotek, Roche and Bomber. But if you want to race the modern narrow chassis then realistically you are only looking at the Tamiya F104 or adding an F104 front end to them, or the 3Racing FGX if independent rear suspension is allowed.

I surfed some of this thread, but didn't want to dig for an hour...

Just want to make sure this is the new tire and wheel people are recommending from Tamiya.

1031 Tamiya F1 Tire Front (Soft) with TCS logo
1032 Tamiya F1 Tire Rear (Hard) with TCS logo
51378 Tamiya F104 Spare Wheels Set

They mount of foam tire wheelsets?

Is it correct that it is soft front and hard rear whereas the old Tamiya rubbers were hard front and soft rear?

That is correct. The hard rears are softer than the soft fronts.

So the hard classification is misleading. Thanks Iasca20.

A few pages back during helmet discussions the trick to smooth decals was heat. Well working on my Mini the headlight decals are a pain in the ass, no heat gun... but a torch worked great! Have to be really quick about it but you can see the decal soften/shrink in 1/2 a sec and it lays so smooth!

The soft and hard designation isnt in reference to rubber compound, it is about the stiffness of the sidewall

For those racing with a 21.5 on 2s packs - what kind of gear ratios are you running?

Default Walk a mile for a Camel

Brad - the decals arrived and I was able to finish the bodies before heading to the airport tonight. Will finish the wings and post complete pics when I get back. The decals are awesome. Lay down great, flexible to go around curves AND stay stuck to the car. Your are giving us the tools do some some really cool old school cars. The girls will debut at the 1st UF1 Winter series race in November,
