Not a silly question at all. I should have been more clear... haha. Yes, spray the area generously with soap water from a spray bottle. The solution will dry eventually, but if gives you more time to adjust as necessary.

of course, BP is the master, so his tips are great too.

Thumbs up

Hey Howler thats pretty sick! The front wing looks like a match to body, is that vinyl or paint? Excellent work.

The front wing, winglets, and rear wing are all vinyl. It's easier to replace the vinyl than re-paint it if it gets scuffed . The color that I used is an Avery vinyl called Grand Blue Metallic. I got lucky as it's a perfect match and also matches in the shade.

To all the other comments, thank you. I can't wait to get this thing racing(which will be tomorrow, lol).

Thanks BP. Cutting took about 1.5 hours, but I think it was worth it. May as well use the resources I have, lol. Looked killer on the track today.

Which car are you trying to put one in? I have one in my F103 and both FGXs. F104 is center loaded and I'm sure it fits one also.

I have them in the F103 and in the F104.
F103 you need the batterymount set that uses the rubber O-ring under the T-bar and with the F104 you need the short topdeck and dremel a bit of the wings where your electronics are on, or put the electronics in front of the shorty.

regards Roy

OK,

A friend of mine bought the F103 lotus 99T (tam#84191) and in the box was a set of foam wheels that really worked very well on our track
(asphalt outdoors cold weather 7degrees celsius)

wondering what kind of Tamiya foams are included in the box?

I am mostly interested in the rear wheel.

what is a tire for the F104 of same type foam called?

If the Lotus tires are the standard F103 kit tire, then type A for the F104 would be closest

Keep in mind the same foam on the F104 rim may not work as well on the F104 as it does the F103 due to the F103 having much wider rear rims.

The kit foams are listed as F104W foams, part number 19408085 and can be found on ebay. You can mount them on f103 rear wheels and they will go straight on your F104. If you want them to be as narrow as F104 wheels just cut the wheels and tyres down on a tyre truer.
