Thanks
I've used the non-advance TRG wing for ages, it's very bulletproof. (#5016) I think we used to use the Advance one for high-speed high-grip tracks, less drag, but less downforce. Didn't strike me as particularly fragile, but I could be mistaken about the type.

I do have one of those I can try out. Pity it doesn't have the same mounting position as the advanced. It did look weaker than the advanced but I think that is just because the plastic is a lot more flexible.

Default Another noob question

What should I have for operating temp. on a 21.5T brushless motor? Also, if my temp is too high or too low what can I do to change it? Thanks

Anything over 140 after a couple minutes is too hot. If it's getting that hot that fast, drop a couple teeth on the pinion gear and try again. Keep dropping teeth until the temps get around 120 or less for 4 minutes and under 150 for 8 minutes.

I've found it hard to make a 21.5 overheat in F1

Would be worth checking that the mesh is not too tight and that the bearings on the axle aren't binding. A ratio of 3:1 on the spur to pinion should be a pretty safe starting point when using a non-timing advance speedy. A fellow racer ran 1.9:1 last night and that didn't get too warm.

What kind of tracks are you give running? The track I run is short and technical. 12 second laps with lots of accelerating and braking and my temps get 140+ f easy. I even added a cooling fan to help out.

One track open and sweeping, 23-24 second laps, the other tight and technical with a lot of braking and 11 second laps

The trg standard wings are both higher down force than the advance.
Like mentioned the advance are low drag. The rear advance is still quite high down force but the front wing might as well not be there. Great if you want a car stable at high speed causes a push.

The standard front wing has better corner entry at high speed only place you'll feel any difference.

From what i can gather through testing of my own the 3 racing f109 front wing is monumental levels of front grip but the matching rear blows.

If you can land a ligier f103 high nose front wing, trg standard rear and chevron diffuser.
You'll have triple the aero grip of the f104
