placed my order for my f104 yesterday. Im getting the mclaren edition. But i am planing on paying homage to Michael Schumacher and painting it like his newer Mercedes Petronas ride. I got a tekin 17.5 to go in it, because there is no class here for me to run in. i can always et a 21.5 down the line if i plan on running in a f1 class. Figured the 17.5 would be fast enough to have some fun. I know of pattos place and d-drive to get decal sheets any other sites i should check out in trying to replicate the mercedes

If you really want to run an f1 car I would get the f109.
The car/parts are cheap so it wont hurt your feelings too much when you
scratch the chassis up.Also, because of the design of floating rear dampened pod it will handle uneven surfaces/rocks/pavement sealer ect. better.
Just make sure you jack up the ride height and it should be good to go.
Maybe a set of those nice treaded ride rubber tires would help too.
See the tqrcracing web page for tires.(think they are in Ca. but not 100%).
Yest, we are in CA.

We have lots of F1 parts and hopups, ride & shimizu rubber tires, tamiya foam tires.

Please, visit www.tqrcracing.com

Thanks.

f104pro, lightweight, black edition are all discontinued.

X1 is soon to be released but it will be limited run. Tamiya is sure quick about discontinuing kits.

If anyone wants any of those cars, I can build them to order in roller or kit form

Ok guys, I/we have been on foam since the road wizard days. I'm thinking of going to rubber only for F1. Does rubber offer longer life? Our new track is the smoothest I have ever seen anywhere to the point of guys calling it the countertop. It has no grainy feel to it and traction is pefect even without spraying it. So give me the pro's and con's for rubber. I have bags of foam and I'm tired of replacing them.

Most times rubber tires will give you a much longer life span than foam...however there are some surfaces that just eat up rubber tires. On our track running my F109 on F104 tires I noticed a considerable drop off in performance after the 2nd run.

Rubber is less hassle, lasts longer and more realistic driving feel. Sometimes even more grip than foams depending on track condition (e.g. concrete parking lot).

The Shimizu tires have lots of grip once the rears are sanded flat.

Always good to know about parts in USA. I hope those that post that info will show how to get the newer parts, IE, x1 stuff in order to upgrade our existing 'out of production' F104s.
