that helped ALOT!! pretty much sums up what i am going through! so since they dont work anyway, i took a belt sander and scraped off the top layer on all four , then i took lighter fluid and cleaned them off, applied pure wintergreen oil on them and let it soak in, and then took FX II messaged it in real good placed them in a plastic bag and will let them sit overnight!

Default Q for Tamiya Rubber

1. I recently got a F103RS kit (Mika's car) new, it came with Tamiya Rubber tiers.
Has anyone tried them?
Are they any good?
Any special tips?

2. Is there a better alternative to the stock F104 Rubber tiers foam inserts?

Thanks,
Marcos

I think I read somewhere the RIDE softs are softer than the Tamiya Softs. Have not tired RIDE since only Tamiya rubbers are allowed locally. Might want to try the F104Ws rubbers.. since they are smaller in front and wider at the rear.

I usually tire tweak them before apply any compounds for about 5-10 mins. On a loose and bumpy track, 0 toe-in or some toe-in helps.

Hi, I need your advices.

Im stuck with F104 rubber tyres and rims for my 3Racing F109.
Im going to buy the front end suspension of the F104 later so Im
guessing it will yield to decreased front track width.
Will there be a problem if I use the F109 front uprights and axle?
Will it fit the F104 wheels? Or do I have to buy new axle bearings?

Second, will the rear f104 rims fit without any mods? Wont it hit the
pod links? It will also reduce the track width, right?

Your answers will be appreciated...

not 100% sure but you probably need the complete 104 front suspension. the 104 wheels use different bearings so you will need new bearings too.
the rear rims fit the same, the offset is the same but the 104 style is just more narrow.

Will HPI F10 wheels and tires bolt on to a 3Racing F109 without any mods?

Default Kyosho Ferrari body

I was at my LHS last night looking for new body for my Blitz when I found a body sitting at the very back of the rack that looks like it has been sitting there for years. It is a Kyosho Ferrari F92A body, part number FJ-27. It says 1/10 scale on the package and it includes the body, decals and front wing.

Will this fit on a 3Racing F109?

Does anyone have this body?

I love the older Ferrari F1 cars and would like to get this if it will fit.

Post pics if you can.

It will be bit of a hack job to get it to fit but it will. The 3R chassis is a bit longer but I think it makes the older bodies look more like the real thing.
I forget how the wings mount on the 4P Kyosho chassis but any normal 90s wing set should look good on it.

Here is the chassis

you will need the steering arms too. i think what you are going to run into is where to connect the rearward top arm too? i could be wrong but i dont think its is going to bolt on because if this.

This is a really bad idea. But what you need is

F104 front sus arm parts.

F104 front king pins, they are a special size compared to all the other king pins used on the F103,F103GT and F109.

F104 servo mount, the F104 arms mount under the servo mount unlike the F103/F109

2-5mm ball ends

2-5mm ball ends, that mount on the end of the rear servo mount screws, there are different.

Shorter tie rods as the F104 is narrow compared to the F109 and F103.

You also might need two longer screws for the rear servo mount, and the front screws if i remember correctly are also longer than the F109/F103.

Of course you also need the tires and wheels. And the front bearings.

You also might have problems with the rear ride height as F104 wheels are taller that the F103 size wheel. With the F103 you can use spacers under the gear box to raise it up to lower the rear ride height, but can you do that on the F109? The axle height adjusters are not enough the get the rear ride height low enough. The F104 uses a taller gear box than the f109 to get the axle higher lowering the car.

You can use your F109 uprights on the F104 sus arms so you do not need to buy them.
