Default 17.5 BL questions and advice

hi all,
i am looking for a 17.5 BL ESC motor combo to go race in stock, on carpet. can anyone give some advice as to which one might be the go? i have noticed some around $250 and others like half that, what gives and does it matter in a 17.5 BL setup? are the more expensive ones that much better????
thanks

in the systems you are getting a higher quality racing motor and a very expensive esc. the esc releases more power and has better adjustability that can be necessary to winning races. I think novak systems are the best from all the other responses ive seen from them. also trinity duo bl motors are at the top of their game too.

If you plan on racing at any big events, some of the cheaper sensorless systems/combos (like the Mamba Sidewinder), while excellent performing, aren't ROAR legal for stock classes. Just about any of the big names like Novak, Tekin, LRP, Speedpassion, etc., make decent ESCs. Good motors are Novak, Tekin, LRP, Hacker, Losi, Trinity, Speedpassion, and Orion.
