Default MI2 overheating problems

HI all my first post so i hope you can help ive got an mi2 with a LRP sphere compitition speed control and a LRP 13.5 vector motor my gearing is setup of 83 spur 35 pinion does this sound right or could there be something else wrong

in short, either your gearing is out, the esc and or motor is faulty, or your transmission is binding up somewhere.

i'd ask at the track what others are gearig at for a good starting point, hth

IIRC the Mi2's internal ratio is 1.8 so your gearing would put you at an FDR of about 4.27. You should probably be somewhere between 4.5-4.7, and that will bring your temps down. Put a 32 or 33 tooth pinion on there and try that.

ONLY if he is using a 20T pulley version....(which I agreed with you, he is overgeared)....go use a 33T pinion and temp again. You don't want to get to 34T unless you have some major cooling to the motor and speedo. (which are the options for him to try)
