What sort of charger do you have?

If you have a cruddy charger then get the charger.

As for the Tx (everybody has a personal preference, mine is the "mars") the Mars is really really nice but the ex11 has 4 channels and a heap of tuning options and is a little cheaper. I would get the Mars over the Ex11 (or anything for that matter) because it looks awsome  and has an overwelming amount of things you can change to fit your driving style, there are 5 levels (5 having the most features) and most people only have to go to the 3rd level to be satisfied. But if you do get the Mars be warned, they EAT batt's. Good luck in your decision. :)

I like EX11 more than the XR3

M8 is more comfortable to hold than Mars IMO:)

If you're having Tx battery problems, get some of the Energizer 1800mAh AA-size NiMH cells. They are available at most major retailers in the US (Wal Mart, Target, etc.) and no doubt in other parts of the world as well.

On a 14 hour trickle charge, one set of 8 AAs will last me about a month of racing in my M8 LE -- and that's WITH the backlight. The timer in my radio told me I got roughly 4:30 of run time out of my last charge.

Can't beat that!

i already run some 1800. They only have a 2 hour charge!

Futureal, you sure? All I can find on their site is the new 1700mAH AA NiMH's.

Here is what Wal-Mart is showing. Click Here to go to Wal-Mart's Battery Page They are showing that they only carry the 1200mAH AA NiMH's.

proudwinner,

you are right those batteries are 1700maH. I bought a pack of 8 with a charger for only 19.99 at SAM's club. check them out at SAM's club.

ZER01 02-05-2002 08:11 PM

TRF-powered, I wish you told me that before 4:00pm today! I just finished paying $19.99 for a 4-pack of Monster Cable 1800mAH's w/out the charger. I bought 3 packs.

TRF-Powered 02-05-2002 08:17 PM

Can't help you on that~.... just got online not long ago~..

Check Sam's club or Costco sometimes. Sometimes they have really good stuff.

The charger charges NiH and NiCd. However, it takes about a day to charge up 4 AA cells. But with that kinda price. Can't really complain.
