Probably everywhere, since they are all glass fibre reinforced.

DF-03 has a straight ABS chassis, like the TT-01 and other budget models.

Not the stock kits, they don't.

Yes, they do. Look at the chassis mould markings. Look at the texture of the plastic. And try to resist posting nonsense.

I just put my 2nd df03 ra up on the Forsale fourm. (sons car)
This is probally the best rally chassis I have run so far.
Probally because it is based on the 4wd buggy
I will be ordering the celica body for mine when it is available
Get a dark impact body for your rally and use it as a inner body
works sweet.
Get the slipper clutch too.
I had to dremel the chassis on mine to get my lrp sphere in it but it is very fast using only a 21.5. I love it

You're getting quite personal. Are you involved somehow in making these cars? They're not fibre reinforced anything. And stop being thick.

Hey, I'd love to help you think of ideas, just try to be more specific? Is it still 6 cells, just split up into 2 packs?

I've been looking at getting one of these, but was hoping some of you owners might be able to answer some questions.

How robust is the drive train? If you were to run brushless with a 2S would it hold up?

Would it be safe to say that a slipper is pretty much necessary for this thing if going to be used off-road?

Minus the electronics, how water-proof/resistant is the DF03? I know this might be universal among cars, but I wasn't sure if sealed bearings/diff housings etc would be necessary.

Thanks!

hey guy's i'm new to this forum and this hobby
im also planning on getting this kit with the 2008 body.
and have been reading everyones posts here.
but from the stock kit.. what are some upgrades you guys think i should get?
i'd like to run this car off road obviously.. do some drifting and maybe jumps if its possible with this car?
i have a 10.5 NOVAK with the ESC attached (got the pack)
will that engine over heat in this car? or will this engine do any damage to the car?
and i read someone who was talking about "3's" what is that?
i would really appreciate any feed back at all on this topic! thanks alot!

The drivetrain is tough enough. Given, I have only ever run it with a 23 turn (brushed) but it didn't show any problems. The only upgrade I have is front universals. The one thing I would look into would be the aluminium dirveshaft cups to eliminate the shaft wobble. Sure slipper clutch would be a further improvement and a front one way even better to mitigate some of the shocks induced by jumps.

If you want more info there is a good review on oople.com of the DF03 based buggy.

As for waterproofing I used silicone grease on the gbox casing mating faces. Make sure you don't overtighten something so the plastic doesn't get distorted. For the bearings I use foam collars but these need to be taken out to dry after runnig through water otherwise the bearings will rust. You can dip the collars in shock oil but keep in mind they'll collect dust better that way.

so has anyone run an RA against a Slash on an offroad race track? I used to mess around with a TB01 rally car many many years ago on race tracks, but it just didn't have enough ground clearance and the lack of a front bumper would trash the body so fast it wasn't even funny. :P Other than that, it handled great and always landed on its feet.

your esc/motor combo is gonna work on it, i had a sidewinder/4600kv combo and there was no problems, i sold the rig due to it being unused most of the time and i didnt like not being able to use lipo w/out hacking onto the frame.
