Default Mazda Cup 2008 race vid

I recently built a steadycam with a low-mount for low shots/angles. Decided to test it out this past weekend in Irvine at OC Circuit's Mazda Cup. Threw together a video, lemme know what you all think. Ive been doing this for 7 rounds of the JBRL as well, just check my youtube profile for those vids. Those vids, however, were not done with the steadicam (that will be for the finale this weekend).

OK the video is great, but I have to ask where the Furai shells come from? I saw some RX-3 shells that look like they might be ABC. But I have never seen a Furai in lexan before.

The furai shells were just for that event and were part of a special class. They were only 10 bodies made, signed and numbered by the designers of the actual Furai.

Aw man talk about exclusive. I was hoping it was a new HPI release or something.

I saw the promo for this event elsewhere and I must say I find the Mazda tie in to be very neat! The Furai from Mazda is one of the most interesting proto from full scale auto scene in awhile. Its built off one of their 2-3 year old Courage chassis, simply gorgeous and the 20b motor inside...well, hard to find a better sound!

So to see the shells for the series and there exclusivity....I wonder if any will hit Ebay

They shouldnt...supposedly they had to sign a contract forbidding them from reselling the body from what i heard.

That just seems wrong that you would go through the trouble of engineering a mold for a shell like that and then you just cut off the production with a small number for a special event.

Actually, that IS the very reason why they did it. It is Mazda's way of showing their involvement of ALL forms of motorsports. OC Circuit was very very fortunate to be able to have such a prestigious class. They made teh Buck then made the mold, then did the R & D to figure out how to make teh side pods and rear valance. All for making this car a TRUE collectors item. Those who entered in teh class has got to me the luckiest RC collectors around.

Really if I was handed a shell like that I wouldnt be able to decide what color to paint it, and I wouldnt want to race it and get it beat up. All because I know I cant get another shell. Of course Im the kind of guy that has a stack of shells that dont have a scratch on them. When I race I run from a few shells that already have the poo beaten out of them.

Well thats awesome. Thanks for the still pic. I walk away jealous.
