TB Diffs
T02 = TB02R identical in all ways
TB02, TB02R, EvoIII Surikarn identical except Diff Joint

Standard diff joint T51042
short side has a moulded nut retainer, and that is why the diff spring can not go on the nut side with this diff joint.
Nut on short side (it fits in the mould)
Spring, thrust bearing on screw side.

EvoIII, EvoIV, EvoIVms T50992
uses a seperate nut retainer (A5 part evoIII surikarn, L10 part EvoIV, also same as TA05)
Long diff joint - spring with nut & retainer
Short diff joint - thrust bearing and screw.

One other difference I have found is the ring gear and bevel.
T50987 TB02, TB02R, F201, EvoIII surikarn
T51110 EvoIV and EvoIVms
I personally have not compared these items (but I will very soon and update all)

I use tamiyausa.com parts support system to compare items and research compatability. Another good web reference I use is tamiyaclub.com
(and of course rctech)

Links
tamiyausa parts support http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/rcpss.php
tamiya club www.tamiyaclub.com

just wish i could order in a dose of consistancy for my driving

Hi, can anyone tell me what pinion would best suit a 55T spur for 540 silver can class?

I will be running on a fairly tight, ashphalt track.

sorry for yet another gearing question but i couldnt find an answer in previous posts (except switching to a 52T spur)

You will never get the correct gear ratio with a 55 tooth spur on the TB02, with a mabuchi motor. 55 is for stock motors.

you'll have to use the hi speed spur from the f1 car and I for get the teeth and a 27 pininon i think, i'll have to check my car to see what is is. I have my tbo2 set up for tcs mabuchi racing. the tbo5's are about 1/2 second a lap faster.

With the correct set-up , the TA05 and TB02 are equal in speed.

Not yet. There's a lot of left over spur from the tb evo 1 though that could fit tbo2. I could try it but I dont have many .4 pinions to test.

I am going to try some diff gears this weekend, I played around at www.gearchart.com to get some starting points for the sizes. I am shooting for @ 5.15 + or - , I am running a 52 26 right now, but trying to locate 26-27-28 pinion is next to impossible, so hopefully I can get the same numbers using the 0.4 pitch 72-35/36/37 just need to see what one will mesh up correctly. If I can't get the 0.4 to work, I will play around with the 48p and 64p.

Tell me what combination you come up with that fits .4 spurs and metric pinions and which slot you used. I might try it out as well. Should be able to go down to 4.8 using 72/39. That's what I used for my old evo on mabuchi seems ok.

if you want to use the 48 pitch gears you can use a 60 tooth spur and a 30,31 or 32 tooth pinion gears and they fit the b,c,d holes on the motor mount

Is Kawada back in the USA, or do you know where I can get them?
