We run with the 12th scales at the moment. Both are down. Most of the nitro guys are home getting their buggies and truggies ready. Attendance in general is around 50% of what it was 2 months ago due to the possible good weather outside.

We still have one or two full heats, but the talk is about racing outside.

For me, it's time for some 235, 2 cell lipo and 10.5. But you never know I might just keep running the 200mm car.

At NorCal Hobbies, we have already made the transition to outdoor asphalt; but, I still practice on carpet with my Gen-X 10 using 17.5/lipo every chance I get. Most interesting r/c car I have ever owned.

Amen to that. I love my CRC Gen X 10 with a passion. The only thing I do not like about the car is the front axles. I don't know what I am doing, or anyone else at my track, but the threads on the axles strip WAY too easily. And you can't tighten them too much otherwise you risk crushing your bearing. SO yeah, if there is an upgrade to this part, I will be on it like a cheap Saigon whore on a Navy sailor.

Other than that, this is by far the best World GT car I have ever had. I am waiting on Josh Cyrul to release his car so I can try that out. I wish he would hurry up already...

The 12th scales have been on the tracks, but not his 10th scale. I posted a picture of it in the CEFX thread. I blacked it out a bit for legal reasons, but you can still see some neat stuff on it.

For those of you who have experienced probems with the stock CRC front axles, I had a request from Japan to make up some replacements that after their testing have shown to be more durable. These use a regular 4-40 sets screw instead of the aluminum thread. You can check them out at www.teamtamale.com.

I'll have to try them as I broke my first one when I first built my kit a year ago, frustrating. I than bent one a few weeks back, but prior to that the threads on both axles were gone and were being held on by locktite while new ones were being shipped. I'll be ordering a set tonight.

Thanks

+1 for Larry's stuff. Top shelf machining and high quality materials.

Hi Larry,

I have not had any problem with the stock CRC front axles myself; but, I always think the world of your designs and craftsmanship. I will order some tonight.

Please keep up the great stuff kiddo!

Ahoy Tamale! I saw your site and the part you mention. However, you say "these use a regular 4-40 sets screw instead of the aluminum thread", you mean that we need to screw in the set screw then the locknut ontop of that to secure the wheel in? It sounds a bit flawed in the sense that it may be prone to spinning out if a bearing were to cease or something. Maybe I am understanding this wrong?
