Thanks Bill, nice to be back. I have been lurking over there trying to decide what car to get and power train combo. Have always used AE products but the new 10r5? doesnt look like it will accept LiPo so Iam looking at DMI-10 for now. The BBR series looked like alot of fun, I plan to run it in 09 and some of the local club stuff until then. Hope to be at Chico this Sat. to collect some more recon.-EDIT- Couldnt get my old user name back on either site so now I will have to be TheOtherBill. LOL

WGT is one of three classes that they added in the ROAR EXCom minutes (along with VTA and 1/8 Electric buggy) So this will be a great chance to get things shaken out over the course of the year and maybe have it as an exhibition class at the Carpet and Asphalt Nats and then a full time championship class starting in 2010.

ROAR should just stay away from USVTA and WGT cause they'll just screw it all up.

They could always just say: "See this site for rules"

Yes the WGT is screw up if they would have stuck to the Roar rules buy just add 200mm GT for big races they it would have been easy.

I think what is being said is that with ROAR putting their hands into the WGT mix it could do more harm than good, not that WGT in and of itself is a mistake

Talking good thang

i would like to say that i am getting back into onroad again because of this class, i got out cause of the price of the touring car, i hope that none of the other class go away. but world gt spec seems to be a way for new people to get in to easyer, the track i will be racing at races 1/12 1/10 and some touring car. i got to say the 1/10=1/12 r the biggest class. battiers are cheap. and the spec tires, will last a while. i hope it stays as a spec class for the fun of racing. ok i'll shut up now.

Since tires are a major expense when they are open has anyone mentioned using spec tires in 1/12th?

Honestly I dont run 1/12 so it doesnt affect me but I think it would help in the beginners classes if it were. Tires have been my biggest expense in RC since I started. I love the fact that the WGT is using the spec tires.

Hi

Just in case anyone from the UK is reading through the thread.....

The World GT / GT-10 class is being properly launched in January here in the UK! There's a huge demo race at this years Autosport show - organised by the BRCA.

Then following that is the first major 'open entry' race event for the class. At the Eversley Winter Carpet Challenge we will be running a class for World GT - running to the new BRCA rules (GT2 spec) - so 4 cell with a 10.5t / 19t motor limit and the usual list of GT shells. Entries for this event are now open at centralbooking.org - get them in quickly! If you've got any questions feel free to drop me a PM.

Oli
