Since I posted the start of this build on here I feel obligated to keep it going on this thread. I copied my post from the F103RM thread below. Just incase someone is watching.

Well with the nice weather we had over the weekend I did some more painting. I worked on four helmits and painted the interior of the Williams FW18. The other three helmits are for future builds (Sauber C12, McLaren MP4/7, and a Williams FW-16. I still have to add some decals to the driver (crossing my fingers it works out) then I think I'm done...almost.

First step, glued and screwed the helmit together

Sanded down the edges

Mounted it for painting. I taped it down to a small bottle of paint. This helps too when I'm stickering, it's a little easier to hold on to. I used a clothing hanger to keep it away from my hands.

Added some primer and resanded. Then more primer.

I used the Tamiya polycarbonate paint (PC4) on this helmit so it matches the blue on the car.

Then repeated the process four times. I used gloss acrylic on the yellows and polycarbonate on the white.

I used the Jacques Villeneuve stickers supplied in the kit. The only problem is Tamiya wasn't so accurate with these (probably a licensing thing). His helmit has a pink line going around it. So this had to be painted free hand. I also added the Rothmans stickers, these where sort of thick and didn't lay down so well even with heat. That sort of bummed me out.

I painted the interior with flat acrylic paints and set the helmit in to snap off some pics.

Hey Michel, I'd love to see the MP4/4. Let's get it going...come on...what's the hold up. Just kidding. Seriously, I would love to see that car. I've been on the fence about order that one. I have the decals but I'm not the wings. Paint one up and post the pics.

rxsevengt: Thanks man! It's nice to hear feedback from other enthusiasts. I do appreciate it. I'm really trying to step this one up to prepare for the Williams FW-16 that's on the build list. I want my Senna cars to look good.

I'll post up some more pics as I get the other stuff done. I was lying in bed last night after the Giants/Browns game thinking of a couple more little details. I think I should start writing it down so I don't forget. You know, being all old and stuff.

Ok, for those following this thread heres the latest update.

I finished up the interior and mounted the helmit. I used some of the extra stickers from the various sheets to put on the driver suit. I think I'm going to hit it with some flat to knock down the shine of the stickers. I also used a fine tip brush to add some accents to the gloves and suit. I put some pics below. All I have left to do is the rear wing. Then I'm done!

Hello,

I still have a F102 chasis but the upper deck is missing.
It's the carbon deck that has the body posts and the battery straps.
Can anyone give me a part number of this part or maybe a copy of the manual because i never had it delivered with my car.

Hi, I hate to be the second first post in a row, but, I have an older F102 I am in the process of restoring. I used to race a 101 and a 101/102 hybrid at a local club. I was cleaning out some old Rc stuff and spotted the parts box, I was amazed that I still had enough parts to put a car back together. The problem I'm having is that I can't find the old rubber tires anywhere. I have a set of fronts in good shape, but the backs are foam. I'd really like to find a source of rubber tires...a new rear wing would be nice. Oh, and I saw some bodies on ebay but before I get one of them is there a better place I should be looking?

Thanks, and sorry for the noob questions.

Once again very nice Vyger, neat and clean.
With the helmet visor I find using a chrome vinyl and spraying is with a subtle candy colour to colour it results in a more realistic result.
