Your Favorite Rubber Tires for Carpet

What tires are everyones favorites for carpet racing? Here we run Pits or Sorexs. 24s in the front with HPI red inserts and either 20s in the rear with HPI red inserts or 24s with HPI yellow inserts. I like the pits better, they seem to wear better.

On our local track, I tried a bunch of combo's. And I really like the Take off premounts, 27 front, 22 rear.

Here at Rain many people (including myself) run Take-Off CS-27s because they have plenty of traction and are less expensive than others. If you want more grip, try Sorex 24s but be prepared to spend more and have more wear. My Take-Offs were $34 compared to Sorexs with Pro-line wheels and HPI inserts for over $50. Don't use the old spoke wheel version of the Take-Off though, as the those wheels are much weaker than the new dish style. Some people like the Pits because they last longer than the Sorex. I think you can also run Yokomo tires on carpet, but I forget which compound people like.

I know that one! I've seen people run yokomo 139m, 139G and 139GS. Those are in order from firm to soft.

I like most of the tires mentioned. The most cost effective way is the take off 27 pre mounts.

Default Takeoffs

So takeoffs 27s or 22s. 27s up front and 22s in the rear. $30-$35 a pair glued up already, can't beat that.

Do you always use 27s front and 22s rear? Or can yo run 27s or 22s all the way around.?

Our carpet track just reopened and the traction is coming and going right now. I am currently running Sorex 24s, HPI red inserts front and 24s, HPI yellow inserts rear. The car is pretty hooked up considering how slick the track is at times.

Going to order some 27s and 22s today.

22's all around tend to wear faster. I like the combo of 27-22 for performance and wear. There are plenty of fast guys running 27's all around, they just did not suit me... All in the setup

i use the TO 27s on all 4s. They wear excellent and with the right set-up are hooked up.
