Brushless Motor Forum
Hey guys, I'm going to order a brushless motor from Mike at Modeltech. Someone needs to email him after he comes back from vaction to update his site. He needs to change the link that was to the RCtouring forum to the RCtech one here. I need some feedback and advice on gearing and setting up my car w/ a brushless. Oh, I guess we will make this the Brushless Motor forum too.

You are getting the brushless speedo too right? the best advice I can give is read though the manual and learn how to pragram the speedo. I'm really interested in brushless, but wouldnt buy one unless they were made legal for sanctioned racing.
I like the idea of no maintenance.

it'll take a long time before ernie lets go of "regular" motors. he has more pull in this hobby that most people realize.

i would love to have a brushless system in my tc3! then i could smoke my friends nitro
How much are the model tech systems again? I want to see how much the Novak systems will be. I heard the Novaks dont come close to the ModelTechs in RPM though.
Has anyone heard of Jetti brushless system? I believe they are from the UK.
porkybmx, what car are you putting the modeltech in? i read that belt drive cars have alot of trouble with the belts skipping and wearing out REALLY fast (like in few days ) due to the incredible power of the modeltech motors....

That just won't do. Guess Ill have to get a shafty TC3 when I go brushless. More money down the drain Xray belts are too precious to strip.

Brushless and belt drive
Our brushless motors do not cause any problems with belt drive transmissions. Obviously however if you use the full potential of the motors all the time then the belt life will be reduced, but this is no different to using an ultra low wind, high rpm, brushed motor.

angrymrsquirrel- Xray belts are really cheap considering you are getting telfon coated, kevlar re-inforced belts! The Xray will handle the BL motors no problems.... I've run the BL B47s on an SV10II and didn't have any problems with the belt.
