Well i have a novak 6.5r and i run it on nimh's while my cousin and uncle have the EZ-Run 60 amp with EZ-Run 8.5t motors and lipos and their's go way faster and have much more punch than mine. I think they are of very good quality for such a low priced system.

i recently purchased the 60 amp 5.5 t combo for my TA05 with nimh batt's and haven't experienced the cogging at all with mine.....my only issue with the system has that it has shown up all my flaw's in car setup and driving skill....the thing just goes hard..........a lot of fun for a cheap and useful system.
In relation to FDR, there is a heap of info on other forum's, but this link does provide an explanation,

http://www.robinsonracing.com/tips.html

and you can always go to www.gearchart.com to help you calculate FDR for your car.

2) I read somewhere that if you want your brushless motor to run cooler you must disable the drag brake and reduse the punch. Is this true?

3) And one last thing. The 60a Esc gives more power to the motor than the 35A esc? Is it possible that with the 60A the car is faster in performance?

Please help........
George -

1. I believe your overheating problems comes from the motor. It's a 380-size motor trying to pull a 1/10+ size truck (I put "+" because it's a fairly large 1/10). The smaller motor is straining to pull it, causing it to pull more current and thus heat more.

2. yes, going conservative on the settings will run cooler, but again your motor is overheating because it's too small. Get the 540-size x.5T motors and you should be fine.

3. If the ESC is not hot, you're probably not maxing the constant current capability, but the peak currents during on-off throttle and hard accleration may be limited. The 60A ESC would be a good precaution for youe setup.

Now I have a question for you. I'm looking to do a BL DST in the future also. What motor mount did you use and did you have to do any drilling, etc?

Thanks.

Default Still looking for some answers

I have ezrun 60A with 5.5T. Questions: 1) I m using 4PK radio with digital servo, can i use the HRS mode with this ESC? 2) Is the 5.5T has bonded or sintered magnet rotor? If not can i replace it with some aftermarket sintered magnet rotor? What will be advantage of having Sintered rotor magnet? 3) I m using 7.4v 2 cell Lipo batt, whats the volt cut off to be set with the esc? 4) The ESC instruction say i can use it with 5.5t motor and above, so in the future can i use it with an LRP X11 5.5T Motor(it has higher kV rating as the hobbywing 5.5t motor)? Thanks in advance for the answers.

1) That is a servo mode not motor mode so it dont matter
2) I beleive it is bonded and no you cant replace it
3) i like 3.2 per cell or if you want more security try 3.4 per cell
4) I believe so

Thanks for the info. I wonder whats the advantage of sintered magnet over the bonded one?

For all Hobbywing fans , I just received an updated pricelist from the company and they have incresaed prices by over 10%.

Still a cheap ESC but a 10% increase in these times .. smart thinking

Watch those fans guys! Reports of an Ezy-Run actually melting because the fan stopped (95 degree celcius thermal cut out is a tad high!)

Aye, the fan that came with is kinda crappy, wanted to replace with a 12V 30mm but they're kinda costly for what they are.. seen them at $6-12 average online
So, I replaced it with a 12V 40mm fan from an old northbridge chipset cooler that costs me nothing.. works like a charm, much cooler too.

hi everyone . . . im very new to the r/c world, so pls dun flame me if im

stupid . Got myself the eZrun combo 60A & 5.5t . . . its runs like hell

but the problem is after running bout 10 mins, the batt im using is 4600niMh

7.2v . . . the batt got so hot that the connectors melted, meaning the

male/female connectors from the esc to the batt . . . it actually fused

together to the plastic connectors. If im not mistaken, izzit bcs of the

current draw that is too HIGH? Out of the 10 mins, most of it goes to full

throttle. Btw im just running a HSP monster truck . . . yes its lousy,

good for newbies like me.

Let me guess .... standard Tamiya style plug that came on the ESC?

They are rubbish. Poor power transfer and inefficient . Will overheat easily

What connectors are you using?

If it's tamiya.. then there's your problem.

The resistance on them is just too high, which generates heat.

Try to get some Deans Ultra-T connectors, they'll save you tons of trouble.

yes . . . thats the one 'tamiya' style connectors, well any advice, just replaced them and im not running it yet . . . anyways my truck gearing got problem after smashing sideways against a wall. Oh ya, the batt also gets very hot too, any problems with the ezrun running with nimh which i expect draws too much from the bat which causes heating . . . should i go for lipo . . . in manual states lipo '2s: use stock fan, 3s:change high v fan . . . wats the meaning of the 2s and 3s???
