Anyone running a 13.5 in the 19t spec class? How is it working out for you?

Here we have 5 cells and any 13.5 brushless or LRP V10 spec4 19t motor. It seems that 13.5 brushless is faster, but you can still be quite good competition with spec motor if you maintain it in good condition, but spec drivers are slowly upgrading to brushless. At least it`s option for beginner just to see if he/she likes it.

at my local track, we couldn't compete with the 13.5 last year (6 cells)

komodos and peak dynasty were faster for us...

I've tried it, and the 19t is consistently faster than the 13.5t.

How close could you get the times, we've just started testing 13.5 brushless to run together with the 19turn brushed. We can still go up a bit on the gearing because the motor is not very hot after a 5 minute run on a 4.35 FDR , the 13.5 hasn't gotten within 1.5 seconds of the quickest time set by a Kamodo.

Over here in the UK

13.5 is stock

10.5 is run with 19turn brushed. Dont think hardly anyone runs brushed now over here...only when its wet

At my local outdoor track, the track record is still held by brushed, the fastest 10.5 time is about 3 seconds off it.

anyone know how the atlas 19t red motor goes , does it keep up with the komodo?

I like the red atlas... about the same gearing as the komodo and yes its as fast. I prefer the blue because its a torque motor and the comm doesn't become red if overgeared.

I'm with steveonamission. We run 13.5 and 27T together. I have about as good a 27T as you can get and I can place in the top 3 but can't beat the fast 13.5 guys. It's fairly close though. With a good 19T I could probably crush them. I'd equate 19T to 10.5BL.

no way in hell 27t is as fast as 13.5, and no way in hell a 13.5 is as fast as a 19t/10.5. imo roar did a good job on classes, 17.5/27t stock, 13.5 is its own class (next year), and 19t/10.5.

I agree for the most part, if only ROAR-legal motors are used at your local club race. My 27T is not ROAR-legal (ball bearings, etc.) and there's no way a 17.5 will hang with it, and it's not all that far off a 13.5.

from what i have seen the 13.5 blows the 19t out of the water because of the torque and they can be geared higher.
