Gotta go with Joel. Masami is always a threat in any scale, but Joel won the most important race in 1/12th (Indoor Champs), like seven times. NOONE else can claim a record anything like that.

Give Dumas a few more years though and you may see that change........

As far as records go you can't beat Masami.

Talent wise, I like Doseck. Won a world title driving for CAM. Not exactly full factory backing.

But for 12th scale I still think Masami has proven over the last 20 plus years he is the best. On any given day a handful of guys could deserve this title.

12th records for Masami are no stronger than those of Spash. Overall Masami is the greatest driver across all electric disciplines in RC, but if we're just talking 12th scale, I stand by my pick. I just don't think the Worlds is nearly as prestigious a 12th scale win as Cleveland.

Dosie is a close personal friend of mine, and as far as the wheel is concerned, you're right, one of the best EVER. Two Cleveland wins, one for CAM, and one with my boy Troy and Fantom, and the second one came with a pack bought straight off the hobby store table at the Champs, while holding off Spash. Good stuff indeed.

I'll just assume your joking...Masami could easily be considered the greatest driver overall of all time not just 1/12th scale. Id love to just spend a day with him (and a translator) picking his brain and just learning about onroad driving

Masami's probablly the GOAT r/c driver (not just 1/12) but it would be interesting to see how Collari compares. Too bad they don't run the same class.

One of the all time greats for sure. I also think Rick Hohwart had a good run there for awhile. I am glad to see Tony and David being mentioned.

Here is Joel Johnson's 1986 Nationals body from Reno, Joel if you ever see this what car was this body mounted on?
