I was just thinking that the HPI Mustang that is based on the current car would look really great running in the VTA series not because new cars should run but because it looks more like a 1970 Mustang than some of the bodies that are actually supposed to be a 1970 Mustang.

Maybe I dont have the right to say something like that. I will grant that I dont understand how difficult it is to manufacture something like that. However I think many people will agree that it would be nice to see some more offerings from different companies in the 1966 to 1972 era. I would love to see more variations on the classic Mustangs and Camaro's. Ive heard lots of enthusiasm for the Javelin as well.

Quick paint job (less than 2 hours from clear lexan to painted and decaled).

After clicking through a few pages of this thread I have noticed that none of the people who run the Cuda are running the Parma Cuda. They all seem to be the HPI. Any reason for this?

Personal preference on the Parma bodies. I believe a Parma body did well at the SnowBirds in VTA

Most I know have expressed that they think they are "anal-ly unattractive". One guy tried one at our track and he got so ridiculed he got a different body. So yes I believe to be preference also.

Default ...pipe dream...

If the “What I’d like to see” forum is still open I’d put my sixpence in and say that I’d like to see more true-to-scale bodies out there…for example if a 71 Javelin is set on a 200mmW/258mmWB, then a 68 AMX should be set to 200/251 to better represent the shortened WB of the 2 passenger AMX (sorry HPI, I love many of your bodies but I am a Tamiya fanboy at heart and love the idea of their variable wheelbases for the sake of scale, and some of your bodies do suffer from true-to-scale woes) and a 65 Falcon/GT350R at 190/251, maybe a Corvair Yennko Stinger for the M04/ABC/Tech Racing M etc.

If I could really have my pipe dream (though I know this is insane!) I would want a body of the 1968 Mustang that the Terlingua team tried to use at Long Beach (I think) using the GT/California Special (’68 Shelby Convertible) trunk spoiler and fender end caps (if you imagine a ‘67/68 Mustang hardtop with a ’67/69 Camaro Z28 spoiler you get the idea)… ultimately they were not allowed to use the GT/CS as a homolgulated car since they tried to make the switch AFTER qualifying, but I know that in my wildest dreams no one would EVER make a GT/CS body (wink wink, hint hint, sob sob, cry cry, please don’t make me hurt myself, lol). You see, when I was 17 I bought a ’68 GT/CS, spent 5 years restoring it only to have it stolen and stripped out…so the idea of having a 1/10 version of it is too much for me to dream for (wink wink…you get the idea).

All joking aside, I think if VTA is this popular, Vintage SCCA would be too. I mean before T/A the SCCA was where it was at with the GT350 R (not the standard GT350/Mustang that HPI currently sells) running side by side with the Cobras and Vettes and Alfas and Ferraris and Porsches etc. etc. If some of the oddballs could be made for the M-chassis sized cars it would be great…ABC already does a Datsun Sunny (the hatchback/fastback version of the 1200 sedan sold here in the U.S.) and first generation Toyota Celica, but how about a BMW 1600/2000, Volvo P1800, or Datsun 1200 sedan/wagon, Ford/Lotus Cortina?

...TT01E(SWB) ’65 Grand Sport Corvette anyone? TA05 ’63 Ferrari GTO Superfast? TB03 Chaparral? M04 Porsche 356?

Join the dream, contribute to the delusion…lol.

BTW- looks like my TT01 Rallye conversion may just have to give way to one of those AAR Cudas…in a Jagermeister scheme of course…

Wow, nice paint job! You sure you want to race something that gorgeous? It's almost sacrilege!

As far as what ChattyMatty says, I almost agree. However, I think VTA is setup with American cars in mind.

hoping for an exception since it was $30 cheaper than the novak and I'm not made of money

otherwise I'll just run 4 cell with the 17.5 novak that I've got
