This is the first RC car I painted; VTA is simply just cool. This one is definitely plain and simple compared to some on here.

I'll post an after picture shortly with the numbers, decals...... giant cracks because I'm bouncing off every board I find

Using that type of mounting, and not having antenna wires poking through bodies...some of these incredible paint jobs would look BETTER than the real thing...

BEING a Ford Nut, I loved that Black and Gold mustang..and I really liked the removal of the louvers on the rear 1/4 windows. NICE!

(I think it just became my new desktop screen)
LOL I was thinking the same thing and was getting ready to ask if anyone has used these:

what does those do, glue to the inside of the body? (hard to tell from the pics)

I've always been amazed at how flimsy TC bodies mount compared to oval bodies, plus how narrow the mounting stance is.

I've always figured that is part of what leads to tc bodies being damaged easily.

I would like to see a tc with a bit wider mounting in the front of the chassis to be able to get a little more rigid front mounting..and a little more support for a good strong foam front bumper

Yes part of it glues to the inside of the body ad that 'clips'into a part you mount on your post.

Since the part that mounts on the body appears to be able to move up down tilt etc.. I think it would work when switching to new bodies, as long as you can get the clips back off.

Thought I'd put up my Camaro before it gets marked up in Minot ND. This sweet paint job all paint no stickers here.

Anyone need Vinyl Decals?
Joe,

I forgot to ask, did you sticker the bumpers or paint them? I was thinking of using opaque black for the body color and pearl silver backed with white to paint instead of sticker the bumpers.

I didn't use the stickers for the bumpers. I just hand painted the inside with a brush using Testor's silver model car paint.

I painted the spokes of the wheels "black chrome trim" Testor's model paint and detailed the lug nuts. I also painted "blue stripes" on the tires using a Sharpie water based paint pen. I did the white lettering of the tires with a white Sharpie. Chassis is a Tamiya TA-04S with a 27t and 4-cell for now.
Joe I think this is one of the nicest VTA cars I have ever seen.
