Since you chose the 71-74 Javelin/AMX paint scheme, I would use the white mini-lite (8 spoke) HPI wheels just like the Follmer/Penske cars.

Thanks all. It was different to paint. NOW IF SOMEONE WOULD COME OUT WITH A REAL JAVELIN BODY , I have many more paint ideas for it .

I finally finished my VTA car. 65 HPI Mustang GT-350 painted like a 66 GT-350H. I removed the roof louvers and glued in pieces of lexan to match the real 350H's. I also cut open the hood scoop. I painted the spokes of the wheels "black chrome trim" Testor's model paint and detailed the lug nuts. I also painted "blue stripes" on the tires using a Sharpie water based paint pen. I did the white lettering of the tires with a white Sharpie. Chassis is a Tamiya TA-04S with a 27t and 4-cell for now.

Nice penmanship! Looks good. I like the louverless windows better!

Awesome job on the Mustang. You should send a photo to HPI to show them how they should make their 2 different Mustangs.

How difficult was it to remove the Window scoops?

Thanks guys.

Wasn't too difficult for the window vents. I scribed them with a #11 exacto blade from the inside. Just kept scoring a line until it cut through.

The hood scoop I drilled a small hole with a pin vise in each upper corner, then used the same exacto knife and trimmed out the rest.

Nice job Joe, when is it going to debut on the carpet so we can get some action shots?

Not sure yet. Have to find some time to come down and do some test and tune with the set up and just "work out the bugs" of the new chassis.

Sean doesn't want me to race with this body. He said it's too nice.

What color did you use for the gold lemans stripes and who printed the side gt350H stripes for you?

I'm trying to do the exact same body. I promise to number it differently...

The gold is Createx Copper Pearl.

The stripes were done as a mask by Kevin Crandal (kevin107@gmail.com).
Anyone need Vinyl Decals?

It would be so cool if more TC's had stable enough body mounts to be able to mount the bodies the way we do a lot of our oval bodies (with just button head screws into the top of the mounts)

Using that type of mounting, and not having antenna wires poking through bodies...some of these incredible paint jobs would look BETTER than the real thing...

BEING a Ford Nut, I loved that Black and Gold mustang..and I really liked the removal of the louvers on the rear 1/4 windows. NICE!

(I think it just became my new desktop screen)
