No, but my painter (RockStarPaint.com) said he bought clear matte spray paint there and it stays on fine. Probably Rustoleum or Valspar.

Car doesn't look like this any more, but the matte is still there.

dont go to Home depot and get Valspar clear sealer thats flat if you dont want something to work. it does require sanding prior to using and thats just too much to do to make something work.......

A couple of pics of my Javelin. I bought my TC4 w/ this body from NutDriver and it's seen some rookie abuse since I started racing in January. Still looks pretty good, I think!

This is the stuff, just use it with a couple of very light cross-directional coats.

The outside of the lexan is shiny. That is the characteristic of the surface. It doesn't matter if you paint the inside flat or gloss. It doesn't matter if you spray it with primer or dog crap on the inside it will still be shiny on the out. So if you are hell bent on painting it on the inside then there are not many options. There are exactly zero. You must alter the outside surface to achieve a matte finish.

Edit: Just for clarity I don't advise using dog crap. I don't think that can have any positive outcome.

Snoop,
As I am the one who posed the question unclearly, I will take the blame for the "outside" issue. I was wanting to avoid someone saying, "just paint it black on the outside".
Thank you for the clarification about the dog poop. I only have cats and didn't want to be forced to raid the neighbor's yard for painting supplies. :-)

Last edited by NutDriver; 04-10-2014 at 09:57 AM. Reason: since baby poop seems to stick to EVERYTHING, is that a reasonable alternative?

Maybe so, but you weren't snarky about it. it's all good. I have been in a mood today. Made trouble on a couple of threads.
