I think Crispy is thinking of the wicked 69 Mustang body that came with the new HPI Vaughn Gittin Jr drift car. Its a highly modified Mustang and wasn't legal for that reason.

With no plans to break any official VTA rules, I still think that the Gittin Mustang shell with that crazy hood scoop covered up, and with a conservative paint job, would make a nice VTA ride.

I worked on this Vaterra 69 Camaro this week. Its for a racer in Idaho.

Where they race, they have all gone to a "one design" contest where everyone is using the stock Vaterra Chassis. So, this isn't really a USVTA car but close. Paint is all Faskolor and I used liquid mask to cut all the graphics and numerals. Fasescent Blue and white. I'll post the photo of the actual car it was based on in the next post.

The Vaterra body actually comes with separate chrome bumpers and side mirrors. Very scale! I didn't install those. He will do that.

Here's the basis of the car. Nice scheme. Should show up well on the track.

Don't have a picture of my coupe on hand but it's painted the same as my fastback.

Here is my on road Fleet. The '69 Camero is back to TRANS AM legal racing condition, the rest are just sleeping beauties from racing days long ago. THX Mimi for the Camero and Porsche paint and Doug Mertes (AKA RC Car Doc) for the F-1 paint job. (Yea I know I need a number on the rear deck - but I'm concerned about the extra weight HAHAHA!)

Here's a couple I've done. The green one I ran for quite a while (Faskolor Key Lime). What I liked about the body was that it fit the TC3 chassis just perfect. What I didn't like about it was those sharp front fender corners at the headlights catch easy on anything on the track and crush pretty quickly. Make sure and put some shoe goo in them ahead of time. That helps them look nice longer.
