I used a piece of rod drilled & tapped on both ends for a mounting post and a screw through the roof and another through the "vent" area of the body...

I just used the driver not the guy riding shotgun...

Some people use both...
Some people just Shoo Goo them in...
Or use Velcro...

I don't...

Default HPI 65 Shelby Mustang

A racer at our track last week saw the 66 Fastback that I did in red. He liked it but wanted a Shelby done in his colors. Clean and mean. He's adding the numbers and any other decals. I just put the minimum on for photos. Painted bumpers and window trim. Stripes are Fasescent Blue Faskolor with a little chrome mixed in. Going onto a TC4.

Hey Myron, read the discussion going on Page 6 of the PROTOform Race Bodies thread.

Also I need you to PM me your P.O. box address for the new T.S. ESC!

Hey VTA enthusiasts, what do you think about this idea?

Since these 2 bodies are so very similar; (1) 1970 Chevy Camaro SS, and (2) 1971 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am ....

... would it be possible to make one car body with 2 different noses so that a VTA racer could choose to make it either a '70 Camaro SS or a '71 Pontiac F.B. TA?

IMHO, that would be AWESOME!

I really can't wait to get a couple bodies and do up a couple paint ideas. Likely be the challenger body. Black with cobalt blue dual nearly pinstripe thick stripes down the passenger side, might do another one the same with red. A 3rd one in plum crazy purple with flat black hood. Just a couple ideas I have.

Getting a 70 Challenger ready to paint.. I really like the body, but is it me, or do the wheels look to be tucked too far up in the wheelwells? Especially the front.. Maybe it won't look so drastic when it's got paint on it, or maybe this is just how they look.
It's on a TC4, and I already extended the front body posts by about 1/4" because the front was just too low. Do I need to extend them more? Would that help?

Thoughts?

You can use AE 9890 wheel hexes, they are 6.8mm, stock TC4 are 5.6mm you will also need to get the low profile nuts AE 3438

Thank you for the PN on the wider hexes! I was looking for something like that just yesterday. Those nuts you referenced aren't metric (8-32). Don't AE cars use metric hardware? I've always used a metric driver on my TC6 wheels.
