I didn't talk to the guy who owned the rust bucket. I wish I had got a pic of the other side of it too... there is some damage to the lexan that looks like the metal is rusted clean through...

My thought when I saw this thing was - IS THIS GUY A HOLLYWOOD Set Painter - it was pure craftsmanship for sure.

Coincidence, or some real bizarre Twilight Zone moment??? I was about to make a comment that there was an awesome Rust Bucket posted back on page 6 or 7. It was actually page 9 and also posted by SWTour. What's the go there? The link to the photo isn't there anymore unfortunately.

I don't think it was the same one. This one above has extra detail like the light hanging out the front.

This is the HPI 1967 Corvette. Yes, I know its not VTA legal. But, most tracks are fine with it for club racing. Its too dang cool not to like.

This one is done with Faskolor Key Lime. Tried to make it look showroom stock. Its probably going on ebay, so making it VTA ready wasn't the total goal. I just wanted it to look good.

I'm still running the same body in red, or I'd keep it for myself.

Here is my USVTA car. All rattle can paint (no decals anywhere) using hand cut masks.

What driver figure is that and how did you mount it?

Same question here. Where'd you get the driver?

Nice job BTW. White rims set it off nicely.

I'll see if I can get Frank to come on here and tell you guys how he did it, I know that most if not all the rust effects are done on the outside. He actually did this body last yr; won 1st in the non-pro paint concourse then; and just had it out for display again this yr.

The driver is from HobbyPro (www.hobbypro.com.hk) part number HD202L. Got it here: http://store.hkshobby.com/product_in...4c211b9c02a0f5
The area around the driver has been trimmed, it is servo taped to the body.

Thanks Chris. Would appreciate that. I might give it a shot myself on the outside of a camaro shell I have. Not using it at the moment so may as well give it a test shot.

Thanks Three. Been looking for an open face driver. Might put one on my shopping list. Cheers

I don't reckon you can. They're probably just the wholesalers. I registered with HKS Hobby - $20 shipping to Australia for that driver tray. A bit rich, but not unexpected.
