Here is a VTA for a local racer. He owns a lawn care business. I gotta get a better camera sometime and a setup for taking pics. As usual, everything is done using paint masks and the only stickers are the HPI supplied stock stickers.

The Chassis was my 17.5 car. Soon after I converted this over to VTA Drive Gear. Our track is 90% Camaros so I had to go Mustang.

Do these cars go slow enough a rear wing/spoiler is not needed.

The jury is out on that one. Some guys say no but others have said that when they loose the spolier during a race the rear gets a bit loose.
My opinion is that it will have an effect but it's up to the individual whether or not they feel it.

I Know it isn't a legal body but were I race they bend the rules a little on body style. 1st place concourse non pro paint.

Default Sumthin' difernt
My flat black '69 camaro. Paint on the outside using Plasti-Dip spay stuff.
I dought it will last as I race on asphalt but I did paint it black on the inside also.

Way back in this thread, I saw mention of Testors Modelmasters laquer base paint. Anyone have much experience with it? Does it hold up as well as Pactra R/C paint. Just lookin for more color options.

Being lacquer based, i thought it might "bite" a little tighter, & stick. One person stated they use it on their display cars, so i was wondering if it held up in real racing situations.

I have used it on several bodies and it has held up fine. The one thing I have found is that if you put shoe goo in the body to strengthen it, it will kind of eat through the paint.

I hope it holds up. I painted this with Model Masters Grabber Orange Lacquer...

I have used the testors model master lacquer paint. (The regular enamal paint will not stick) many times to paint bodies works well I would suggest after spraying it to spray a backing coat of gray pactra. It will make it told up better when putting shoe goo in it
