thank you, i tend to be over critical about things so seeing a line that is slightly uneven or bled buggs me to no end. i am happy with the end result and the fact it is my 1st multicolor body but i would definitely change a few things next time, or go with a much simpler paint scheme =p

If I were him I would want your car for display at work on his desk or display counter. Very nice result and unique too.

I think we all sweat the details which is why we take the time to view this forum and post. The harsh reality is that the details and minor errors won't be on the radar after you start racing your body. The creases and mashed corners will then take your eyes off the minor things. I keep one body un-raced to put on my car in the workshop for that reason. We make 'em to use, but I wish they stayed new longer!

I agree...thats one of the most unique paint jobs Ive seen in a long time...the yellow looks like my Dads 69 Cutty...I really hated that color that for his 50th Bday, I had it painted metalic blue...wish I didnt..lol..

That would win a concourse anyday...nice job

After seeing some of the others in this thread, these aren't really worthy - LOL - but here are 2 that I just finished. Would have painted the stripes if I'd realized what a pain the HPI stripe decals are, at least on the hoods. No issues with the other decals - didn't even want to attempt the bumper decals.

I hear ya on the HPI decals. The one on the hood for my 70 boss 302 was one big sticker and it was a PITA to put on. but Its my race body anyways so it will get banged up soon enough... my GF's 65 gt350 , when I get to paint it, will not be getting decal strips for sure....

Just use a little heat for the decals, especially for bumper. It makes it easy to stretch and mold the decals to the surface.

I sometimes use windex, it lets the decals slip around a little bit before you push them on and "squeegee" out the windex; giving you more room to adjust and line them up perfect.

Thanks guys. The only problem it has is on it the top of the fenders and rear wing. This is automotive base coat so I had to spray adhesion promoter in there and it didn't set well in those areas.

Here in Indy, we're fortunate to have a slew of great painters. IndyHobbies is one. Here is one done by Michael at Rockstar Paints:

And here is one I did myself:

I have to go with colors that I can pick up with my old tired eyes.
