At the time Testors had just put out some new colors so all I know for sure is that it is Testors custom laquer system. Do not confuse it with Testors Enamel model car paint which will NOT stick to Lexan.
Aside from that Tamiya and Pactra and Spazstix have some great metal flake silver paints.
Your Mustang there is probably Testors Silver.
But you might want to have a look at these.
Sterling Silver Metallic (AMC)
Light Gray Metallic (Chevy) Auto
Or These
Indy Silver
Metal Flake Silver

If you are brave/good with a rattle can you could try http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXFFV5&P=7 and back it with black. With the translucent color, the more you spray the brighter it would be. So 1 coat of silver backed with black would be darker than 2 coats silver backed with black etc etc. The only issue would be even coverage, it could have light and dark spots depending how even your spray is.

Has anyone used a combination of Masking tape and liquid mask to mask off a hood for a USGT car? I like the straight edge of the tape as well as the economy of it, but I think I will need Liquid mask to make sure the line is clean on the very nose of it. Its just too difficult to get the tape up in there.

I always use liquid mask/tape combo except I use the liquid mask on all the paint lines and tape to fill the voids. There isn't any kind of reaction between the 2 that would mess up your body/paint. At $25 a quart vs $3 a roll its all about saving a little money and liquid mask for me. I don't see any reason it wouldn't work fine for your use.
