Ok Darkside, I'll give you that the Cougar is just another Mustang coupe.

So back to my original request that I made in May 2011...

???????? That's like saying the barracuda is just another challenger. Or maybe you prefer the firebird is just another camaro????? Maybe we don't need a Firebird body because we already have so many camaros. Geez guys. Be thankful for what has been released and keep asking for the other bodies too. If you must pick a point then complain that hpi made a non trans am legal 1978 firebird when we all asked for a 69 or 70.

If you look into what the cougar is you will find that it is a very different car from the mustang. Sure it shared parts just like any manufacturer would do but it was its own car. You will find that it was actually a better built car and had much better fit and finish than the mustang because the production lines were not nearly as rushed to get the cars to market. And I'm in no way bashing the mustang. I own a 1969 fastback and I love it.

okay...I was just saying that the Coupe would have made a great Cougar, something different....its a fresh mold and would have been easier or not, to make us a Cougar...

I will never complain about the bodies...its 18 on the legal list, and Ive used most of those...but plenty to still try...

chill, buddy...its great in my US VTA world....Im a very happy racer....oh shoot...smiley face

Well... Dagnabbit!!! HPI made the wrong stinkin' model year for the Pontiac Firebird. There goes my hope to drive a Pontiac Trans Am in the Vintage Trans Am race class.

I can still put my old Nikko '72 Trans Am body on my VTA, but it weighs 5 times as much as a PolyCarb body.

.

.
Hey 6376vette, that's exactly what I did (complained that they made the wrong year model) back in early Feb when HPI announced the '78 Firebird body.

Here is one that I did for a local racer. He and his father saw this car in person. His father has passed so this is very special memory for him.

He is also a fan of Gabriel Iglesias so I added a few "fuffy" touches.

The painting is done with custom masks. The decals were done with custom cut vinyl done by me, stock HPI decals, and some VTA decals furnished by him.

I think it turned out pretty good. Enjoy it Adam!
