The Protoform Javelin body rocks! I had my friend, Looped http://ldpaint.webs.com/ , paint a Protoform J71 in Red/White/Blue. It is the best looking VTA car at my local track!

By the way, the Protoform J71 Javelin is in a close 2nd place. Click here to vote on your favorite VTA body now.

Has anybody tried using on of these HPI #104815 Inner Body Sets as a driver figure in their VTA? The description says these drivers are for the 1/12 scale Mini Trophy truck. Does that mean these drivers are smaller than 1/10 scale?

The area around the driver has been trimmed, it is servo taped to the body.
Looks like that has your unique sessionid in it. When I clicked on the link it showed me the page with the driver, but also a prepopulated shopping cart with the following contents...

1 x 3 Racing Cyclone Outer Joint - Heavy Duty CY-27A
1 x ASC MR02 RML LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH LP500S (BLUE) MZG316BL

Too funny. Just pointing it out so anyone placing an order doesn't end up with extra stuff unintentionally.

Here's the straight link :

Well, first, it's just dumb luck that I was searching for Autographics decals and a Google result led me back to this thread. You quoted a post almost 4 years old.

The color is called... hard to replicate. It's a custom hand-mixed color that I did to match the original Gurney AAR race car. I did it with a little flair, though, so it had some pearl metallic to it. Of note, it requires an airbrush and a little color mixing theory to nail it. You can see in the photos it was the second car I did, and it carried better results than the #48 did.

Start with a light dusting of Faskolor Faschange Blue or purple, then followed by a mix of Fasescent Blue with a few drops of Fasescent Purple and black. Back with black to get the right deep shade of blue. You can also achieve a similar color with a few heavy coats of Faschange Blue backed with black. Run tests of all of your custom mixes on scrap Lexan pieces to get the right color.

Good luck,

dc

Those cuda's (lower case c) look stunning. We're trying to get a VTA class going out here in Tucson.

My Dad has the actual jack-stands Gurney used on the '70 race car. I'm not making this up.
