Watch out w/ Losi's BL systems
Hi, a friend of mine at my track bought the XXX-S with the Brushless 10.5 that comes in the pack... pretty good offer but: Continous temp shut down..... he had the proper FDR and nothing in bad conditions, car was new!!! He had to stop using it.... So be careful with what you buy....

I agree, the ta05 is a great car for beginners.

Ok, biased view from me, but +1. Been very happy with mine and it can be upgraded to a very good club level car as and when you want to
The wishbones and hubs are very strong, as is the rest of the car, very well put together.
In any case though, get yourself to a local club and see what others are racing with.
Considerations for any car include: Readily available (or not) parts support, price of the kit and who else uses the car locally, this can be useful for sharing setup info
A known weak points on the Tamiya TA05 is the plastic toe blocks, but these can be easily swapped over for the alloy trf versions that the 415 series of cars use. A set of universal driveshafts in the front is wise too.
Another bad point is the car is quite heavy, but with some careful choices on upgrades you can shave a good amount of weight off the car.
