I wonder if the newer motor box is weaker than the old f103 motor box. The long thin spacer on the left can easily take out the bearing in a side impact.
A fix would be a pair of spacers on the inside of the box on both sides. And the load from the outer spacer on a side impact will be halved.

who has used the nifferent types of diffusers? i ahve used the TRG claer one and the ABC typeE and the trg was more stable overall, and the ABC was much more stable on the straight aways but the turns were harder to manuver.the weather difference betweent he 2 days was 30 degrees which i think played a MAJOR role.

upon searching for my motor mount, i came across this:
for $200 you can have a fully hopped up f1 rc. this comes with alum upper arms, knuckles, toe links, castor adjuster, alum motor mount with 3 fans, rear t bar, lower deck, upper deck, hex wheel adapters, upper deck to servo mount bars, titanium screw kit and titanium friction plate. that is alot of hopups for only $200...

what really caught my eye was the front arms... why would you have them reverse like that?
i really like the lower deck, thicker(3mm as opposed to 2.5) plus its thinner in the front, and has the extra hole for the f1 front wing. im goingt to school for my masters in physics and tone see how this is beneficial from a physical standpoint. the only thing that comes to mind is thier steering knucles are long. this may be positioned to make for that difference in distance. any insights?

Hi TFR. There weren't any modifications done to the car other than body mounts. For the front, I used the F103LM front bumper with F103LM aluminum body mounts. For the rear, I used F103LM body mounts as well. I adjusted the height using spacers and that was it. I'll go to the garage and take pics with the body off.

To follow up my previous post, there was a small modification to the front wheels so that they would fit nicely under the body. In hindsight, they may not have needed to be cut down...however, I did narrow them by removing approximately 2.5mm from the lip. This was accomplished with an exacto blade and a tire lathe kinda freaky and not something I enjoyed doing lol.

Absolutely beautiful car. And great job on the body mounting. I love the F1 style bodies, but there is something really enjoyable about that style body too. I almost want two cars
I saw those forward swept front arms too, I think you can swap the direction of the arms no problem on the LM car from what I can tell. I think its just done for styling. The real F1 cars have that forward swept style too.
