iTS POSSIBLE BUT THATS AN EXPENSIVE OPTION, YOU MIGHT BE BETTER GET PARTS THAT ARE ALREADY ANODIZED, best place to try is CML, or a main dealer for tamiya! Hope that helps:D

Google anodizing and coating. There are several specialists that can do amazing things with anodizing. Paintball gear comes to mind...

Something to remember about color anodizing. Different types of aluminum take to colors different than others (I.E. 6061 vs 7075, vs. anything extruded). It will take a special shop that can identify the different materials and a big IF if they can do anything to make sure the colors match.

For all intents and purposes, since anodizing is a coating (and a color coating at that) each batch of parts can vary by color and shade. So even if you "found" a company that said they'd come out "tamaiya blue" they could get returned to you baby blue.

The thing to do is to check/call around with your local machine shops that do machine or aluminum work and ask if they do anodizing and what colors they have available as well as the cost if you supply the parts to them (as well as if they do stripping of your old parts if they're other colors). But if you're going to be picky, my guess is you're most likely to find yourself unhappy - or unable to afford it once you find out what it costs to not have it done in bulk.

good luck

thanks for all the input! One last question would black come out black on all alloy the same?? I am kinda picky so maybe black is a better color and do accents Tamiya blue like screws and such.

RocketRob40 06-25-2008 07:23 AM

that was addressed and answered in Post #9

and, as I alluded earlier, might I suggest "being picky" be eliminated from your equation ;)

I know but was thinking that black being really dark that that it will come out the best on different alloys. Maybe now I dot know just a thought.

Thanks Bryan

I'd get TRF 416 and put Xray stickers on it:lol: besides, in about 5 months a new Xray will be out...so there goes your baby blue.
