Do you guys support AMB for each transponder you sell (and they don't) or not?

Because as a racer we don't only buy a transponder, we also support them in there website mylaps.com, on which I can still even see my training sessions from 2004!....
and all this for only buying 1 transponder more then 5 years ago!
M7H,

I can't speak for the rest of the world - but I Don't care too much about supporting MYLAPS.COM (AMB's new U.S. name) if it means paying $112 bucks U.S. for a Personal Transponder that Originally sold in the U.S. for $49.00.

The prices raised a huge amount (Blamed on currency rate exchange) but when that flipped the other direction - the prices NEVER came back down!

....is that the SUPPORT you were talking about?

So Terry,

Is my transponder still under warranty as I bought in Jan 09?

Do let me know so I could send it to you together with another transponder for cloning.

Thanks.

You can always find a reason to blame somebody else.
Currency rate exhange flipped?
1 Euro is $1.46... and it's never been any higher.

Look at Dale Epp, from Protoform, also blaming other manufact. for copying his body's, I guess you also don't agree with him then....

this qusteion has probably been asked alot of times in this thread but i dont have the time to read the whole so:

i`m going to buy a personal transponder but cant justify the price on the amb one as i dont race that often

do i have to buy a amb transponder from the start or can i just get a mrt transponder only and use that?

If you want a clone, you have to send in an AMB PT.

You can also buy a "custom" PTX. It will have 21 transponder numbers in it. You don't need an AMB PT to get this version.

So no, you don't need an AMB PT to get a PTX

So all in all these transponders are pretty reliable? If they are then I'm glad I ran across this thread! I'll be placing my order shortly!

The MRT transponders seem to be as good as the AMB ones. I have one AMB and two MRT's. Will be getting a few more MRT's shortly as I have added a few cars to my stable. I went the AMB/clone route so all my cars have the same transponder number.

Why the need for 21 transponder numbers? Are you able to close what you use??

if you have a lot of racers with mrt transponders, then they all have the same first 20 numbers in their ptx. so the 21 number is a random amb PT number that may be different then any of the other racers at your track.

If you dont get a clone, then somewhere in the world someone has the same number as you do. You might end up at the same track some day and in the same race. highly unlikely, but could happen. With the 21 numbers, you can always choose another number not in use that day. I think all MRT transponders have the same 20 numbers, just the 21st is different.

Yup, these guys have it right. And it stays set on whatever number (unless "you" change it)

Something else, If you are running in a team/enduro race, It gives you the the ability to set every car on the same number (doesn't matter if it a custom or clone)... no fumbling trying to swap transponder from car to car .

So the price is $56 right now for a standard cloned pt? Or do you have to check the exchange rate first!? I got the 56 from the website, just wanted to check before I placed my order

Not sure where you are but I think that price is probably pounds. I think right now if you order less than 10 they are just over $71 USD. If you order more then 10 there is a 5% discount.
