Default Duratrax ICE question

When I use the motor run in mode on the ICE, it has a Amps reading... can this reading be used in anyway to judge the motor being run... torque etc?
The problem with today's world is that everyone believes they have the right to express their opinion AND have others listen to it... The correct statement of individual rights is that everyone has the right to an opinion, but crucially, that opinion can be roundly ignored and even made fun of, particularly if its demonstrably nonsense! The amperage draw of the motor can be used as a gauge to somewhat evaluate over all health. If a motor draws 17 amps and the last time you built it and broke it in it only pulled 6 amps you could use that to figure that the motor might be binding.

There typically is some correlation between amp draw and how the motor performs on the track..but in general you never know till you run it. A motor pulling 9-12 amps at 2v can still end up being slow on the track.

I find that the amp draw reading at 5V is far more relevant in estimating the torque of the motor than at 2V. As the motor speed increases (with no load), the amp draw tends to drop. Generally heavier springs will give more amp draw and more low-end torque, lighter springs or drilled brushes offer more RPMs
