Just wanted to clarify what the tiebreaking procedures are going to be in the Grand Slam Points.

We recently discovered that they were not listed on the website. We apologize if this has caused any confusion, and unfortunately our website guy isn't available until next week.

We would also like to remind all racers that if attend all 4 races, you will receive 5 bonus points.

In the event of a tie, the tiebreakers will be (in order):

1. Number of A-Main wins
2. Highest single finish
3. Throw-out/Drop race

It was decided to make the drop/throw-out as the 3rd tiebreaker, as those who attend 4 races are already getting 5 bonus points.

On behalf of Paul and Chris, I'd like to thank everyone who has participated in this series. Y'all have made all the work worth the effort. We look forward to seeing everyone in Maryland, and again next fall/winter.

Also....

I called and spoke with Mimi at The Track this afternoon, and she said the doors will open at 10 AM this Friday.

Anyone who arrives before 10 is welcome to hang out and Brandon Hess's place. Bring donuts.

Default Best route??

I am coming down from Connectiut....

I am wondering what the best route would be?

Is it worth it to chance I95 with all the traffic backlogs or is their a better alternate route?

Thanks

For those racers that are traveling from the OH, PA area, try to avoid I-270 from Frederick to Gaithersburg,MD during the morning rush hours of 5:30 - 10 AM.

On the weekday mornings, this is a 30 mile parking lot that can take another 2 hours to get through. On Friday, the window shrinks to 6-9 AM.

I travel that route about a dozen times a year,if you mapquest Breezewood to Berkley springs WV and then Berkley Springs to DC you get a route that takes you on 66 and 81 to 17 and you miss all that crap, its longer mile-wise but much faster time wise.

Ed, it's not quite that bad. I should know, I have been making the commute from Middletown/Frederick to Rockville for 16 years. As long as there are no accidents and no rain, it will take about 50 minutes to an hour. It's still the fastest way if coming from Oh and PA.
