Track Report
The rain finally eased up. I had a good tuning session with the two prototype pan cars. The JS Pro 200, I equipped with a novak 10.5 and 2S LiPo that we are using in our World Gt Petit Lemans Class at Mikes-Hobbyshop.com. This is what I noticed. I had better and more precise steering. The front of the car absolutely followed my steering commands. This was helpfull in the chicane after I turned steering volume way down from my normal settings on the World Gt car. There was little push with one grade harder tires on the front. I ran purples instead of CRC spec fronts. On the sweeper I could avoid the brakes on entry and still run a tight corner. I had more forward traction. The touring car told me the track was slippery, but the JSPro 200 pan had medium traction.
Wide Pan
Today the pan was equipped with Tekin R8 (1/8th scale controler) and LRP 4.0 motor. It was just wicked fast. I put on a set of SRC springs which are custom wound for the car. This is the first time I had a little bit stiffer rear spring available. The car became less twitchy and fell into good control. The setup is perfect. The Tekin is shining with this motor but not all was good. I put on A Novak Ballistic series 3.5. The car would accelerate fine until the Tekin went into its crappy non sensored mode, then it accelerated at 1/3 throttle. It was a no go. I still have a couple more 3.5 s to try with it. I think the Tekin will handle the heat with ease as it comes off the track often 10 degrees below track temp. 114 on a 125 degree day. The cooling fins do poke up even with the body and I am using no fan.

There are probably some readers of this thread in the US looking for a Venue to run a little bit faster than 4 cell/13.5 in their world GT cars. Well here is the Venue in Early November. This flyer is also posted in the proper places, an early edited copy is posted here. This race will be hosted by my Home track, Mikes-HobbyShop.com. It will be a warmup to the coming World IFMAR IC championship in 2010 at this same facility. The ROAR president, Dawn Sanchez will be attending to inspect the facility. Here is a description of our two electric classes that we plan to run.
Open Mod TC

John - Thank you for posting a cheat sheet for punching the center body post hole. I found a local metal works supplier had the 82deg bit in stock.
New Gen X 10 kit, left side hub - where did you get this animal? The only reference to it is in the battle axe 2.0 build manual part # crc 3351. Needless to say is the rear pod still in balance with the micro left bulkhead?

Captslow-you are welcome. Here is the link to the 1/10 on-road Gen X 10 left hand hub.
http://teamcrc.com/crc/modules.php?n...prodID=7719010
I had some problems with recent editions not having the slot cut all the way through the flange. On my personal hubs I just finished the slot with an X-acto xaw. Hopefully the problem is rectifyied by now.
Adamge-Thanks for the report. Maybe timing is the difference. It is quite a difference on the track.

i had the same problems when running a 4.5t novak with my rs pro. In sensorless the motor just didn't do anything when going from sensord to sensorless.
If you have the hotwire put it on sensord and your problems will be over. I never run my 4.5t in dual mode anymore after trying sensord. Just put the boost on 5 or so when running the 3.5t otherwise the motor will cog when going from motor timing to esc timing. Also put a fan on the chassis that blows towards the posts. In sensord mode the esc gets super hot with a 4.5t. The original cap was blown as well when i tried sensord the first time so better put on a bigger cap or put on 2 original ones.

john - In looking at my post instead of hub I meant bulkhead sorry.
I noticed the Gen XL has a smaller plastic left bulkhead and your Genx10 has the smaller red metal one used in the battle axe 2.0. Where did you get that part from it's been driving me crazy.
Also to install it on the stock bottom plate did you need to drill a new hole or did you find a new bottom plate availabe.

I am sorry, at this time, you have to buy a brand spanking new Gen X 10 or battle axe to get the short metal left side bulkhead. I don't think it has hit the parts part of the store yet. Our new SRC/PRC Heavy Duty bottom plate will be ready for it however. It will also fit the older Gen X 10 left side pod plate as will the new CRC bottom plate. An extra hole is provided on both. Here is a pic of that new pod. The 1/12 scale version with the plastic left side bulkhead worked extremely well at the IIC. Note the Panhard bar is my addition. The extra red nut covers and strengthens the hole for the older style left side bulkhead.
Note this new left bulkhead is not a good fit to the old pod bottom plate. A hole must be drilled in material that is too narrow. You would need the updated bottom plate along with it. There is a nice gusset of material to strengthen the location of the forward hole.

Hippie-Nice.
The center spring will help load the front end to some degree. A heavier spring will provide slightly more steering. The effect is very slight.
Put heavier tweak springs and go with thicker side dampener fluid to help the rear rotate more. This is also helped if you make the front end steer harder. A little more caster, softer front springs.
Here are some recent pics of the track where the 3 day
Grand Prix will be held November 6,7,8. The on-road track is 275 x 78 ft.
The building behind the track contains a covered off-road track, the event room and the private bar are on the second floor as well as a large indoor pit space on the first floor next to the track. The gentleman in the pic is Mike the owner.
