My short black springs are softer than the standard springs. The short white springs are right at, if not slightly harder than, the standard springs. I run short black/blue on front with standard yellow in rear with the 1mm drop-down retainers in the rear only.

So today decided to run a 3s lipo for giggles.
My ball diffs melted

So what's my best bet for diffs?
Can the spec r diffs handle 3s lipos?

I am running a castle 3800kv motor

Thanks guys

I advice you don't get the spec r diffs, I had 2 of them on my tb03 using a 4000kv motor on 3s, the ring gears strip very fast (5 runs if I'm lucky) and replacements are expensive. I went through 6 sets of $10 gear replacements in 4 months. I changed to the original Tamiya ball diffs then never stripped a gear again.

thanks for the advise.
I tried rebuilding the tamiya diffs as solide diffs and snapped the cups.
I picked up these ball diffs from broadtech. I couldnt find any info on them to see if they came with aluminum cups.

You can use Tamiya #54424 3x3mm bushings in place of diff balls to create a limited slip diff. The end result is close to a spool, but the bushings allow some slip.

yes... the 1B is the reversible block made available around the same time as the TB03. the others are the earlier non reversible type (except the 1XB which is also reversible but of the older type).

I currently have a 55 spur and 38 pinion for a 3.53 with plenty of room to gear up.
