Aha I see, makes sense. So, will I be able to use my 26 mm X-Patterns or do I need to get some 24mm wheels for the car?

Quick question...

Are the D Parts suspension arms of the TB03 (Tamiya part 51535) the same length & design as the Short Reversible Suspension Arms (Tamiya 53928) but just in a regular plastic (not the graphite-reinforced plastic)?

Yes you are correct, as are all the other suspension parts, they are the same as the 416 parts, but made as standard plastic

How much of a difference in stiffness is there between the two?

Is there enough for an occasional club racer like myself to notice...and justify paying more than twice as much for a set of the option reversible arms over the plain TB03 ones?

Also, would the plain arms be a bit more forgiving/durable due to their softer material?

hey there.
Starting unpacking the TB03R tonight (rims but no tire ???)

Does anyone have the part numbers for the 2 gearbox/diff bevel gears??
I think its probably a good idea to get some spares, rather than wait 3weeks if/when I break anything.
Just how strong are these bevel gears ??

Any other spares I should get? (I have spare front steering arms & C hubs)

gears should lasta long tome unless your running mod. I race RCGT 17.5 and beat the heck out of the car. I run a spool up front and have not broken a gear yet. shim the car per the manual and you should be ok.

I found the info I need for bevel gears
Parts list
http://www.rccarsrtr.com/index.php/t...arts-list.html

TB03 uses 51256 TB Evolution 5 Ball Differential Gear Set.(I hope)
So cheap I bought a spare. . I'm gonna run a 9T ezrun so i thought :Rather have & never use than the other way around.

The plastic diff looks a bit fragile (outdrives) . How well do they hold up??
Bought a metal diff for the rear, I assumed the front diff wont be under as much stress.

Default TB03R setup sheet :please

Hi there. The stock (as per manual) setup really looks off (camber/toe etc)
Anyone have some working setups (for 10T, indoor & outdoor) to try.
cheers

You may end up better off.
I got the tb03R & still had to get upgrades !!! The PRO version & I still get bushes I need to replace with bearings..arrrgh
Definfitely upgrade the sloppy, sloppy, steering (just get bearings for it, cheap upgrade)
Seems to be alot of slop in the C-Hubs/steering arms as well.

edit: first run yesterday> it drives like a dream, much better than expected. Stock pinion was far too small (as expected). Will probhably change to 48pitch. Lots of grit on the track (after 3 weeks of rain). It would have killed the belts & spur/pinion on my Xray.
Fully enclosed gears, so just shake out the grit & keep going.

I'm thinking about getting the Carbon re-enforced tub. Is that a worthwhile upgrade??. Stock tub is pretty flexy at the ends .

Hey, guys,

Just got my TB03R up and running, but don't go mocking me for using mine as a drifter. Been using my EVO 5 all this time, but I must say that I really love this TB03R much much more! A friend also helped me to mod mine to fit the Yokomo FCD rear diff & drive gear.

Anyway, on to my question. Sorry, if this has been asked before, but I wasn't about to go read through a hundred some odd pages to not find my answer. My EVO5 can fit a 64P 98T spur without mods to the chassis and a 64P 100T spur with slight grinding of the chassis. However, looks like the TB03 might be able to fit the 100T spur or possibly larger without any mods. Anyone know what the biggest spur gear that will fit in the TB03? Thanks in advance!
