Default ABC Hobby Genetic (4wd Touring Mini)

This cool looking car is supposed to have a USA based distributer some time soon. I have the Datsun 510 BRE Edition on order...should arrive this week. Anyone else have these cars? What class do you run it in? Touring, Mini, TA?

There are a couple of guys in our office who have them and they look really cool. Even with stock motor they move. Tires that come with them seem pretty good too.

Used to own it.

The only thing that was brittle was the set of wheels. Tires were fabulous.

Maintenance is a lot of work, as everything is packed in a tiny little package. Nevertheless, it's a little mean bullet at the track.

I purchased the Sunny Coupe kit recently. I am still setting it up, can't wait to give it a run. I also purchased the datsun ute body for the car.

will post when I finish.

I want one of those Datsun 510 BRE's!

We run a Mini class here that allows FWD, RWD and 4WD Minis to run together. Tamiya Black Can motors and 6 cell Nimh. The 4WD's need to gear to the FDR of the M03. It has worked to keep all the cars close on the track.

I love to see a fully upgraded kit, that would save me some big troubles. US here is very hard to get parts.

I got a set of ko and 8x2 motor already to make a rocket!

....I run side by side monkeys still! does it have the battery sinks?

Does anyone know how this compares to the old HPI 4WD mini. I have one of those and just loved it. I am a little afraid to race it now as parts are hard to come by.

Well I just received my Genetic yesterday. I ordered it from the BRE website here:
http://www.bre2.net/mm5/merchant.mvc...ry_Code=models

It comes to $222 with USPS priority shipping. They are based out fo the Seattle, WA. area, so shipping should never take more than 4 days to anywhere in the USA. Some overseas places arew selling this kit for as low as $160 USD. But after including shipping, it comes out to around $220+...and you have to factor in the longer shipping tiime.

Anyhow, here's some unpacking pics I was impressed with the clear oil-filled shocks.

Unfortunately, my Yeah Racing 3200 LiPo pack (same dimensions as the Orion 3200 carbon LiPo pack) does not fit. Maybe some modes will be required.

I have the RS4 mini too, but I probaly will never race it. parts are hard to find now. those two new kits are much more race worthy. they can accept side by side batteries and a motor heatsink. also they have lower CG and better weight distribution. on a track, they could add up to make a big difference. hope this may help you.
