And yes the M2 bulk heads fit. But if you actually bend one of these bulk heads. Your car would have to have been run over by a truck

I just looked at your shock towers. If you ever use a spool in this car. You need the 414M2 bulk heads. They have camber link adjustments. The existing link is to long for a spool. Car is really lazy

Also the one peice blocks from Tamiyas newer cars fit the 414. Buy them for more set up options. Good luck
Thanks.

Don't TA04 diffs fit? Or is that just for the 414M(v1)?

So the Evo-4/5 spools fit the 414M2 front bulkheads specifically, correct?

By any chance, would you know which spools would fit the Rear? (for drift experimentations).

Whats "mod"?

Which DCJs fit? (what length?)

Are DCJs capable of higher/wider steering angles?

What about the separate-blocks? Do the newer ones fit too?

Do you know the front and rear belt lengths to the 414M?

A 3mm lower deck would be nice too. Like the Surikarn TB Evo 3

Which c-hubs and steering-knuckles are cross-compatible with the 414M? Are these spares hard to find, or not really?

Is it the TA05 for the front c-hubs & knuckles, and TA04 for the rear uprights?

Also, what's the length, width & teeth-pitch specs of the belts of the 414M?

I saw an old thread that said the 414M belts uses 4mm wide teeth - Then a guy got that info from that thread, and put it into his belt database website, and put that the 414M uses 4mm pitch teeth. Sounds like he misunderstood perhaps and mistook width for pitch. idk.

Is this a typo and did he make a mistake? Because IF that were true, then the TA04 front and 415 rear belts (which are said to fit the 414M) would not fit - because those belts are both 3mm pitch.

Edit:
Here's my findings for 414M belt info (correct me if I'm wrong please):
TA04 front belt = 169t, 507mm, 4mm wide, 3mm pitch (?)
TRF415 rear belt = 59t, 177mm, 4mm wide, 3mm pitch (?)

..More 414M cross-compatibility questions:

Which steering-racks/wipers/sets/arms fit?

Which front-shafts/axles/cvd/dcj fit? (what's the length?)

Also, can you fit a larger front diff-pulley than the stock 32T? Or, is there not enough clearance/room, and it might hit the lower deck or hit something else?

I want to know if a 36T or 37T can fit in the front.

Not enough clearance.

I would like to make my 414M into a CS drift machine (yes, I know this will upset some purists, grip racers and collectors..but it's what I want to do, it's actually much safer for a collectable (drifting = low-speed), and most mods are reversible).

I need suggestions on how to make it wide-angle steering capable please.

I've just noticed that Active Hobby makes a butt-load of nice, high quality looking, wide-angle parts (shafts/axles, c-hubs & knuckles, steering-wipers/racks/links/arms/sets/kits, narrow upper and lower control arms for clearance, etc., etc.).

But, Does anyone know if any of these parts fit a 414M???

Also...are there any other similar companies/brands that make the same WA-specific parts, like Active Hobby?? They seem to be even more specialized in WA steering parts, than any other brand. I could be wrong. Yokomo, Overdose, 3Racing, Square makes similar parts, correct?

I need tips, suggestions and parts for:
- Which wide-angle front-axles/shafts/cvd's/dcj's fit?
- Which wide-angle c-hubs and steering-knuckles fit?
- Which wide-angle narrow upper and lower control arms fit?
- Which wide-angle steering-sets/wipers/arms/racks/joints/extensions fit?

...For example..I see these and many other parts. But most are for the TA05 and TT-01/02:

Overdose:
TA05 axle shaft
TA05 steering crank set
TA05 c-hub & knuckle set
TA06 rear spool axle
Various length axles/shafts/universals

Active Hobby:
TA05 55º universals
TT-01/02 high angle steering set
Tamiya long servo horn
TT-01 steering bridge set
Tamiya 10º c-hub
TRF416 solid axle
Various length axles/shafts/universals
..and a bunch of other usable stuff..mostly for the TA05, TT-01/02.

3Racing:
TA05 swing shaft set
Various length axles/shafts/universals

…question is, are TA05 and TT-01/02 steering, suspension and axle/shaft components compatible with the 414M?

what you can use is the TA05 lower arm, hub, steering knuckle. the front end can be bolted up with most of the TA05 parts from active hobby. i have the ta05 arm(need shimming), 417 hub and dcj on for track racing.

the set back of the 414 chassis is the steering plate is not long and curve enough to reach extreme steering throw you see from other car like the ta05 vdf.
Even if you can find a way to get the long travel throw, the tire will hit the oil damper anyway so its still limited.

414 is designed to do track racing and not really fit for a true drift competition(compare to ta05 VDF). we used to drift fine before all this crazy extreme drift car kit came out.

i would think for your fun and application, with the money you are going to spend on the after market part is going to be expensive. the parts you are looking to use are good improvement over the stock part for your drift use. but mostly is not needed just for drifting by yourself. just mount up a pvc pipe tire/rim combo and you can drift in circles for ages and the best part is it only cost 5 bucks to get a 4 foot long pvc pipe.

if i am in your position, i would just save the money toward another car or locate more parts for this car in case you are SOL on the broken and hard to find parts.

you always need n+1 car any way.

Great info aoizip!

Yeah, I was looking at the 414M manual for some specs. The 414M arm’s inner pivot pins/shafts are 3mm. Dunno about the exact arm width though..most likely needs spacers/shims.

As for the short/uncurved 414M steering plate…will something like these easily bolt-on and fit? (ie: are steering wipers/sets/racks all compatible within Tamiya TCs?)

Would this TA05 axle work? (I know the dogbone is 42mm..but what’s the overall length including both axle/dogbone? I also don’t know the 414M’s axle diameter either (the inner diameter of the axle bearings)).

What about this one?

Would there knuckles work? (ie: will the 414M axle bearings and shaft fit?)

Not really going to make it into an “Extreme drifter” and spend a lot (just a few cheap parts)…just a few simple boltons (simple enough to easily reverse it back to grip/stock spec). At most, I will probably just change the steering-wipers, c-hubs/knuckles, axles/shafts, rear spool and a mild 1.6 overdrive - and that’s it!

Btw..which spool would fit in the rear? (TA05 direct coupling fit?)

Thanks for the tip. I will just stick with this car for now (since I already have it and I’m not rich). But, I want a 2nd 414M (for grip-driving) in the distant future ..my ultimate goal is to have 1 drift-car and 1 grip-car.

edit:
Did a search and got the axle-bearing info:
"Bearings are all 1150 (axles)- 11mm outer, 5mm inner, 4mm wide"
...so I think pretty much most axles are cross-compatible.
