Default TRF414M, need input

Would like to buy 414M, please any advice about pro and cons for this car is greatly appriciated.

Detail on slops, easy to brake parts, rebuildability would be best.

Thank You

Unless you bend a bulk head, crack the carbon chassis plates or shock towers there are no problems. It's a 414M but still a Tamiya; that would be hard to do. If you do break one of those parts 1. how could you and 2. tamiyausa has replacements.
Everything else is TA04 for the most part. You might loose some specific 414M parts sway bars for example but like I said Tamiya USA has everything. Where will you get one? Good luck. I have two and neither will ever be sold. There are no cons in my eye with this car.

I have the PRO version and I'm using the original chassis for saddle pack. Needs a little work but it saves money

Hey, there are still lots in HongKong!
And the price is still about 320USD

I think the cons for this car is $$$,
I can get a 04 Pro for 2/5 price.

Buy a TA04 and do everything to it the 414M has and you'll spend more than the $310 I paid for my car easily. Then the TA04 still won't have the spuerior suspension geometry. It'll be close but no cigar.

There are "no" options to buy at all. There is nothing to hop up. I race the car with nothing else but what came in the box.

414M is $300 in the USA from Tamiya. They are limited in number so they are hard to come by.

M-5 the hobby shop I go to sponsors one of the few TCS races on the east coast. People at Hobby Works know many at Tamiya USA including David Jun. The 2001 On-Road Carpet Nationals was held here in Maryland last March. David Jun, Jimmy J. and their tuner was there along with myself and guys from Hobbyworks. I saw the car. I wanted the car! It's that simple. Jun said they would send two to Hobby Works. I brought one and a friend of mine brought the other. Later I brought that car from him. I knew he was going to sell it right after he got it. Fickle racer. Anyway I got it at cost because I know the owner of Hobbyworks so it was actually a little less than $310. Well that's the story.

Oh I get set up tips from RUF. "Mr. Tamiya" himself. He's got more Tamiya's than the factory itself. Maybe I need to come to Houston and race.

pyramid,

Tamiya's cars are all built to last espeically their TRF chassis. I have a TB-EVO and a TRF414m. Even though I have only been running my EVO for now, I can tell you the only way that you can really damange a Tamiya car is having some nasty crashes directly into some concrete wall or being run over by a real car.

I crashed my EVO millions of times with some head-ons and wall-crashing. Nothing is damaged yet.

I'm perfecting my driving skill with my EVO for now so I can really kick ass when I move onto my 414M.

Default TO ALL TRF414M FANS

Thank you for all your advice and I'm going to get one.

Received offer from Control Centre Hongkong for USD 347 and also offer from Singapore Winnie/Swans for S$650.

This should be a fun car to drive and race with.
