Thats for the original 414 suspension. If you've switched to Tamiya's other suspensions use 44mm

Looking to get a gear diff, but I'm having difficulty locating the part numbers. I need the gear diff and the outdrives.

Will TA05 V2 sway bars work on the 414M?

I can't remember the sway bar kit part number. But it's an all black away bar kit. I think for the 417.

Thanks Juan. I would like to stick with the same sway-bars that the 414M came with. When I say this, I don't necessarily need to have 414M specific, but rather the same dimensions but from another kit. I don't know if running reversible light weight suspension makes a difference.

I like the newer style sway bars sets over the original sway bars for this car because there is no thick powder coating. No other kit will have the same dimensions. You just make things work. I also use Evo4 sway bar holders for this car.

I also use the EVO 4 sway bar holders as well, you told me too

So, you mentioned the newer sway-bar set. Is this the 417 sway bar set Tamiya (#84208) your talking about?

I think I found some for TA-05 and 417 kits available. The only difference between the two is one is covered in a coating and the other is not.

Yes that's the item number.

Just bought a BNIB TRF414 (not 414m) to build and considering to make it a runner. What parts should I change to bring it up to date? I.E. suspension, drivetrain etc. I read some of the older posts but not sure if anyone is still working on this very classic chassis.

Why would you want to risk damaging an old and beautiful new car?

It's because I have 2 NIB of this car. I originally bought one last fall to build as a shelf queen and I acquired a second just 2 days ago. Trying to figure out what to do with the second one.

Hi, were you able to make any progress? I also have a TRF414, it's been raced before by the previous owner but not a lot by me. I had just recently returned to the hobby and looking at restoring the old car.

It's been a slow progression. I have some option parts and spares piled up on the side. I purchased the 414M2 WCR front stabilizer set as the front stock bulkheads does not have any mounting holes for the sway bars. I also have some MIP CVDs that will fit the car. I was lucky to find a NIP Cross Racing aluminum rear hub carrier. Lastly I bought some titanium screws for the build.

The trouble is getting replacement parts for the drivetrain. You can fit the 414M/TA04 stuff in there such as the diff, but once you do you have to convert the drive shafts over as the size of the bones are different. Also I have been unable to find a rear replacement belt that will fit the car.
