yea, ill get some pics of the two im putting together...

yu can get a large spur in the car, like a 128 or so, but to get brushless gearing, you will wind up back around 102-110. when you run smaller spurs, the mesh gets a bit difficult to hit, as the motor slots limit you some.

i refer to the VTA car as my "Captain America" car, as the bulkheads are blue lightweights, and the motorplate and steering parts are from an M2 i had anodized red a while back, so it will be a bit multi-colored.

For my bl conversion I used 7mm spacers and the TRF415 layshaft.
The motor is perfectly centered.

Do you have any Flex from doing this mod? I am using my 414 for Trans-Am racing. I will be making the first run with the car this weekend. The car is were well balanced(50/50). I was running a TA04 but with the chassis flex, it strips spurs!

Thank you everyone for the Info!
Once I figure out how to post pics, I will get a couple of my car on here.

Im not sure if it's the chassis, but some people had that problem with the motor plate deforming due to too much heat. Personally, I never had a problem with stock motor mount and 27t motor. Perhaps try replacing the motor plate screws(attaching to bulkhead, not motor) with machined screws and they stay threaded better and dont back out as easily. 414 bulkhead isnt plastic, so it should be much better.

The TA04 is a great chassis if you have the hop-ups. For Trans-Am it will work but the weight ratio is a little off. The car that I have has been run like 20 times, pretty much new. I could not pass up the deal on the 414 that I will be running. So the 04 will be going on the shelf.

The reason I asked is because my largest pinion is 41 and right now I'm running 115 spur to 38 pinion, 17.5 BL(no Idea what my tire diameter is). I have not raced it yet hopefully next weekend. BTW it will be a carpet car. I'll post pics of my car later, and please do comment on my electronic set-up and whatever you think is wrong.

TY

Hope this works, but here you can find my little 414 project. (Designed for European 5 cell racing)
The only thing I really still want for it, but can't find, is a spool..

I've been told someone here can help me - I am looking for a rear shock tower for a 414m2, can anyone tell me where to find one, or how to make a 415ms fit, OR if there is something else I can do. It was a bad day today, and I am trying to get the car ready for this Tuesdays club racing. :
HELP!!!

i dont know if there is another tower that will fit, but you can still get them from Tamiya:
http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/ite...uct-id=4034009

i actually broke mine tonight as well, and used a spare front, and rigged the body mounts. not pretty, but it worked. the outer hole on the front tower matches up close to the middle on the rear...

First run with my 414-Hybrid in Trans-Am setup. Very happy with how the 414 runs. Now I have to find one more!LOL
