the only way that those screws are coming out now are by way of dremel.

you are going to have to cut a slot in the head of the screw (yes to get a deep enough slot to do much good you are going to have to cut into the graphite too), and remove them with a blade screw driver.

but dont worry, i picked up satoshi's car at worlds and it had a few slots in the graphite too, so this even happens to the best of us

I have a M2 that have the world sway bar in front. I got a question for those also have this set up.

I notice that the right wheel would touch the turnbuckle that the swar bar is fixed to when it's turned to the max. Did any of you have this problem? I tried to fix this by adding the wheel spacer in there and it does add a little space between the wheel and the turnbuckle. However, it still worries me that during a light bump the wheel will still hit the turnbuckle and slow down one wheel and cause a spin out.

Any ideas?

Default Stripped hex heads

I've had good luck removing the screws using an 'easy out'. I'm not sure I've got the name right. It looks like a thread tap only the threads are reversed. It digs in when turned counter clockwise.

Auto part stores carry them. Just tell them you need to tool to remove a broken bolt. The set I have is called a 'screw extraction set'.

if you have a screw stuck you can just drill it out, use the same size drill bit as the screw, drill it out carfully, this will remove the head of the screw, then remove the thread left over with a pair of pliars, easy, i've done it. no damage to anything but the screw.
hope this helps

Default SSG parts?

So, what up with these new SSG parts.
Any difference to the `normal' CF parts?
What the heck does SSG stand for anyways?

Cheers

Default Spacer Question

Is there a Tamiya part number for the spacers you use to set the "anti-squat" on the 414? I know Kose makes them too, but I can't find a web site in English that I can buy them from

TIA

has anyone tried converting the front one-way into a spool? can you lock the one way bearings onto the outdrives? or is the ball diff the only one that can be converted into a spool? thanks for any info

Hi Marvi,

can you give me a quick explanation on advantages of using a spool in rear? many thanks

Weissjim,

Try Tobbe craft if you could not get the original blue anodize from tamiya. They makes them for 3mm screws.

pyramid: sorry but i havent used a spool yet so i cant answer your question. i wanted to try using a front spool just to experiment if it will improve handling, but as of now, im still running front & rear diffs. i dont know what the effect would be if it will be used for the rear of the car. maybe using a spool in the rear would be useful for fast and flowing tracks - mainly because some 1/10 nitro cars that have front one-ways and locked rear diffs run on similar tracks.
