Looks like the photo i took of a certain speed passion driver at titc , hiding a tekin under his a fan and some stickers

an easier way but maybe less effective. use a blower/radial fan with an aluminum case. they look like a normal fan but it is closed on the back side and the air goes out a hole on the edge of the fan. i found one at a local electronic parts shop that had an aluminum case but it was too big for my 1/12 scale. the aluminum case could help pull heat from the esc if it touched it.

They have to do Tekin, is to redesign the ESC for more thermally efficient

Why ??

do they suffer with overheating problems ??

mine has never got hot , and i push it hard with 10.5 and 13.5 motors

Lol, erm, and how are you drawing the same amp load as a eg. a 4.5 on 2S lipo...
Come on, with a 10.5 or a 13.5 it shouldnt get hot... with fast motors it does.

With motors type Stock the ESC is great, best....but with mod motors in the outdoor large tracks the temperature problem can occur easily

I guess if the FET's were at the top it would be more thermally efficient because a heatsink and fan could be put directly in contact..but then I want to keep the useful controls at the top so it would have to be bigger etc..a total redesign..but the RX8 already exists, might be ideal for mod.

I think the current design is absolutely brilliant. So small and light and its really well engineered with the posts etc. You can't have everything

here is my setup from titc this year also using a spv3 with timing locked on 8

timing 45
turbo 15-17
start 4xxx
end 10000
.3 delay

fdr around 6

hope it help

you might want to try a a lower rpm range as it look like a tighter infield

remember temp is key when trying new setups

i had what seemed like cogging. but only with 203 and not 200. it turned out to be a weak solder connection in the motor between a power bar and its stator lead.

I run it with 4turn motor and the ESC RS Pro was great top speed and a great punch, without a fan on a large track(Heemstede) never overheated or something like that, the only thing you have to do is take care of the setting,
low turbo and minimise timing boost and begin and end RPM.

I run 4.5T in dual mode....What is the temperature in the asphalt? Here we have temperatures of 40ºc to 50ºc on the asphalt......

first thing I would try is a vr adjust on the helios. also on the helios you will need to run the throttle reverse. the next thing I would try if those 2 don't work is to do a reset on your helios for that profile. then set the throttle to reverse and try to calibrate with the rs
