logic for me also though is much less weight and quicker than sedan on spool up, so no need to add to that with the start rev on the hotwire as brushless is also more efficient than what brushed motors were.
it will spool up quicker, but the lack of power (volts) means it won't rev as hard as 2S.

my settings for 1S lipo are:
boost: 30
turbo: 15
start rpm: 1500
end rpm: 7000
ramp: 3
motor: 10.5 X12 (-10 insert)
gearing: around 60mm/rev

I tried 2500-8000 and higher rpm, but it felt dead out of the corners, so i ended up going back to 1500

for 1/10 tc
if the strigh is shorter do you want moe or less rpm?
my local track did a change and now we get in the gas later and out of the gas sooner. so should i change the rpm rang? if so should it be higher or lower?

i would say a smaller usable turbo range would be useful, but remember one part of the track is not everything to go on with any of the esc settings.

keep it the same and if in doubt, make the in and out values smaller (less width between the two) so up the start rpm, and lower the finish rpm if that makes sense, try that and compare, as I doubt gearing will change just for one corner change in the track, very unlikely!

thanks for the info
i didn't think the track change would be that big of a deal but befor the chang we had a sweeper going on the the stright and a sweeper exiting the stright now it's pretty much a 180 in and off the stright.
i'll try changing the rpm range and see what it does

Set the timing on 10. Than it has the most power.
Start RPM 5000+ close to 6000
End RPM 24000
Turbo 10
Boost 45 up to 50
Gearing 8,2FDR
Turbo ramp 2 (3 will be to much I think)

watch the temps.
The motor can get hot so temp it in time.

Would this setup be a good starting point for a ION2 10.5 motor as well ?.

Regards

Anyone have a starting point for x12 13.5 for tc. I read in the manual for the motor that it doesnt like extreme advance timing. I bought one to try and I am worried it may not be a good fit. Suggestions?

I don't now the motor bud don't use it with the X12 motor.
The motor gets hot with this setup bud it is incredible fast.
You can try it bud check the temp after a lap and be careful.
I run with a gearing of 7,8FDR and my motor became a little bit above the 180F after 5 mints racing.
