Default 1S troubles

I'm having a great deal of trouble getting my 1s/13.5 (using an rx pack) to run for wgt, v203. speedo is brand new out of the box. Motor won't turn or cogs no matter what I do. I've tried no timing on motor and esc and every combination of on/off switch and 1s / non 1s setting I can find. I took the motor apart nothing's crossed up and it works fine with an spx. Tried 3 different sensor wires. The only think I have left to try is wire diameter. Using smaller wire that worked with spx. I'm at a complete loss, any ideas would be appreciated.

Also, any starting set-ups for a tc w/ redline 17.5 on v200? Fairly large carpet track.

thanks in advance.

Just throwing an idea or two out there, Have you tried to reflash it with a previous version ( 198 or 200 ) . Also, does the speedo make the beeping noise it is supposed to make or is it virtually silent ? Is the RX pack connected properly , I know some speedo's require a different wiring scheme for a booster / RX pack ( but I don't know the specifics. ) Maybe try the speedo with a 2S battery ( with 1S unchecked obviously ) just to ensure it is functioning properly.

I love this speedo, I was running 21.5 and it was side by side with a 17.5. My temp was 110 amd it was balzing fast. Max out my timing and turbo is only 16, starting RPM is 2000ish and ending in 7000ish. We have a short track and it was very well suited for it.

Need some help with using a booster with my RS in 1/12 scale as I toasted my receiver pack and can't get another 6v one until next week. I have a booster that I got from a racer at our track that he said did not work with his RS, but after plugging the power lead from the esc in to it and then plugging the booster in to the receiver, everything seems to power up normally. Get the normal beeps and lights. Throttle works as normal and seems to get full speed as it did with the receiver pack. I ran this without any issues with a KO esc for a few weeks wired this way.

The booster does not have a brand name on it and there is no switch. Just a female plug on one end to go to the receier and three pins that go in to the power lead. I really don't want to fry anything but would love to race Sunday if at all possible. Am I safe running it?

And before anyone asks, I can't use a lipo rx pack as I'm running an older JRZ3550 that does not like anything over 7 volts. The booster looks a lot like these but does not have a label on it. It does have black shrink like the first pic.

Here is the specs. of the booster and both are made by the same company.
  • Operating Voltage : 2.7V - 4.2V
  • Operating Current : 1A
  • Max operating Current : 1.5A

A fellow racer had a very similar issue with is 1/12 that I helped him sort out. He was running 4 cell 10.5. The motor acted like it was cogging badly, tried different sensor wires, sensor check was showing all 3 sensors on all the time.

We rolled back to v200, everything acted normally, with the previous speed it had.

Updated again to v203 and everything is good now.

Definitely try rolling back to an earlier version for testing, if it acts normally then, then push back to 203 and try again.

Not sure what caused it, but reflashing seemed to do the trick.

keep in mind the lrp motors like to run around 200*. that's where they are the fastest.

Question that is not about speedo. How to gear Redline 6.5T with lipo in TC for indoor race (for ETS)? Any suggestions about fdr? Thank you very much.

I drive mine on 110C but it was not good. The power went down.
Around the 80C it worked better with a max of 90C was working but I had the feeling that the 80 to 85C was better.

LRP can handle a high temp. Most motors can't handle that.
